REVIEW SCORE

In the tranquility of the countryside near Castiglion Fiorentino, Villa Il Podere is an ancient farmhouse, perfectly restored, which stands in a perfect position, very well sheltered wind but kissed by the sun where, even on the hottest summer days, you can relax and rest enjoying absolute privacy.

Between the quiet of the woods and the green nature that will surround you, you will experience an unforgettable stay here. The Villa also offers hospitality to pets and is particularly suitable for family or group holidays. In the living area, you will find a large living room with a huge fireplace, to heat even the coldest days or to make a special evening romantic, and a nice area to devote to the conversation, with sofa and armchairs, as well as a very comfortable kitchen with large top in porphyry, a comfortable peninsula and everything you need to spend convivial and happy moments.

There are three bedrooms available, each served by a private bathroom, all with modern charm but with the ancient warmth dictated by terracotta floors, wooden beams on the ceilings, and still original doors and windows. The dimensions of every single room are remarkable and they will certainly not make you feel the nostalgia of a hotel room.
Outside Villa, Il Podere is a triumph of nature: trees on each side, green everywhere, and then a pleasant in-ground swimming pool on whose edge you can relax in the sun after a refreshing and regenerating bath.

You can also go hiking or cycling, or relax in the garden and use the barbecue. Thanks to its strategic position it is possible to reach the cities of Cortona, Arezzo, Florence, Siena, Montepulciano in a few minutes and it is possible to organize daily visits to the most famous cities of Umbria and Tuscany.

About the Location

Italy, Tuscany, Arezzo Area

Arezzo is located in southeastern Tuscany at the crossroads of four valleys: the Val Tiberina, Casentino, Valdarno, and Valdichiana. This place played an important role in the history of Tuscany and has many artifacts to display. The ancient origins of the city are verified by the stone tools and the so-called Man of the Elm who was discovered here, dating back to the Paleolithic era. The original foundation of the city was Etruscan dating back to the 9th century B.C.

Today Arezzo boasts a wide range of sites to see including fortresses, monuments, churches, and museums that will take its visitors back in time. The benchmark of the city is the Church of San Francesco with the incredible Early Renaissance fresco by Piero Della Francesca depicting the Legend of the True Cross. Have an espresso at the impressive Piazza Grande, where they also hold a jousting matching twice a year, and don’t miss the Medicean Fortress. Visit the Cathedral dedicated to San Donato, as well as the Church of San Domenico with the wooden Crucifix by Cimabue.

Arezzo may not be in the first line of options while thinking of traveling to Tuscany yet it is a hidden gem that will provide its guests with an authentic view of a typical city of the region which has managed to maintain its traditions, its architecture, and its charm. It is believed that the Ponte in Mona Lisa's painting depicts that of Arezzo. Conveniently located, Arezzo offers opportunities for exploration in nearby cities such as Cortona, Anghiari, and Poppi.

Tuscany is a place like nowhere else in the world; this is the reason why this region is at the tops bucket lists all over the globe. Amazing landscapes, beautiful hilltop towns and the fantastic capital city of Florence charm everyone who decides to visit it. It is a majestic region with almost half of the artistic heritage of Italy and fantastic landscapes. Due to its mild weather, you could visit Tuscany all year round. It’s a region with exceptional art towns and hilltop villages and with a heritage of a glorious past with unspoiled nature, spectacular sea coast, and beautiful islands. Here you will taste some of the best wine varieties and then you can relax to one of its thermal spas.

The birthplace of the Roman Empire and Renaissance, Italy, showcases many of the world’s greatest artworks, architectural buildings and over the top gastronomical proposals. This is the country where the word “style” expresses the whole nation. Italy has more Unesco World Heritage cultural sites than any other country; among them are Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera, Michelangelo’s David and Sistine Chapel and da Vinci’s The Last Supper.
