REVIEW SCORE

Four arches, two by two, open the view of the large sandstone face of Villa Bottaia to what appears to be a real welcome. You will immediately feel very welcome in this mansion. Villa Bottaia Tuscany, all around, opens onto the rows of a young organic winery in the heart of Chianti, on the hill overlooking the city of Arezzo.

The large cottage can accommodate up to 12 people in its 6 large double bedrooms with a bathroom also accessible by disabled people (one bedroom and the living area). From the ground floor, you can easily access the large private garden and the swimming pool which opens up to a splendid panoramic view. The finishes of the villa are elegant, everything is studied in detail and the environment is refined and comfortable. The construction features allow this building to be included in the highest energy saving class with great well-being for those who stay there in all seasons. The living areas are large and comfortable with a living room, kitchen, and dining room as well as three bedrooms, with their respective bathrooms, on each of the two floors.

The upper floor is connected to the outside both by comfortable original stone stairs and by a wooden bridge that gives access to the garden on the mountainside and to the swimming pool with an accessible path, also in this case, also for people with disabilities.
On the first floor, where the original wood-burning oven is located, the view over the valley is truly impressive.

Villa Bottaia Tuscany is equipped with all the equipment and comforts to make guests' stay truly enjoyable. The kitchens are also fully equipped and there is also a washing machine and a dryer for each floor, Wi-Fi connection, air conditioning, heating, and satellite TV. The furnishings are of an excellent finish, each room is carefully studied to obtain the maximum of practicality without losing the authentic flavor of the Tuscan country houses. All the rooms are treated and individually decorated with some unique pieces, handmade or antiques, and selected fabrics.

In the main dining room, the large fireplace makes Villa Bottaia's environment particularly warm and romantic, ideal for sharing unforgettable moments with travel companions. On the ground floor, open to the garden, a large dining table is part of the furniture. Just look out from the large windows of the loggias, or stop to look at the valley below from the outdoor garden, to discover that you are in a kind of real barrel obtained in the suggestive scenery of the typical landscape of the Tuscan hills where the flavors of the past can be rediscovered without putting out the nose from home.

About the Location

Italy, Tuscany, Arezzo Area

Arezzo is located in southeastern Tuscany at the crossroads of four valleys: the Val Tiberina, Casentino, Valdarno, and Valdichiana. This place played an important role in the history of Tuscany and has many artifacts to display. The ancient origins of the city are verified by the stone tools and the so-called Man of the Elm who was discovered here, dating back to the Paleolithic era. The original foundation of the city was Etruscan dating back to the 9th century B.C.

Today Arezzo boasts a wide range of sites to see including fortresses, monuments, churches, and museums that will take its visitors back in time. The benchmark of the city is the Church of San Francesco with the incredible Early Renaissance fresco by Piero Della Francesca depicting the Legend of the True Cross. Have an espresso at the impressive Piazza Grande, where they also hold a jousting matching twice a year, and don’t miss the Medicean Fortress. Visit the Cathedral dedicated to San Donato, as well as the Church of San Domenico with the wooden Crucifix by Cimabue.

Arezzo may not be in the first line of options while thinking of traveling to Tuscany yet it is a hidden gem that will provide its guests with an authentic view of a typical city of the region which has managed to maintain its traditions, its architecture, and its charm. It is believed that the Ponte in Mona Lisa's painting depicts that of Arezzo. Conveniently located, Arezzo offers opportunities for exploration in nearby cities such as Cortona, Anghiari, and Poppi.

Tuscany is a place like nowhere else in the world; this is the reason why this region is at the tops bucket lists all over the globe. Amazing landscapes, beautiful hilltop towns and the fantastic capital city of Florence charm everyone who decides to visit it. It is a majestic region with almost half of the artistic heritage of Italy and fantastic landscapes. Due to its mild weather, you could visit Tuscany all year round. It’s a region with exceptional art towns and hilltop villages and with a heritage of a glorious past with unspoiled nature, spectacular sea coast, and beautiful islands. Here you will taste some of the best wine varieties and then you can relax to one of its thermal spas.

The birthplace of the Roman Empire and Renaissance, Italy, showcases many of the world’s greatest artworks, architectural buildings and over the top gastronomical proposals. This is the country where the word “style” expresses the whole nation. Italy has more Unesco World Heritage cultural sites than any other country; among them are Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera, Michelangelo’s David and Sistine Chapel and da Vinci’s The Last Supper.
