The villa features a classic living room with antique pieces of furniture, a lounge & dining area, Cretan-themed paintings, and some other amenities such as satellite television and a portable stereo system. It leads to a veranda open to the Aegean Sea, with comfortable sitting furniture, which is exposed to the sea breezes and to stunning views of the sea, wooded hillside, the White Mountains, and – most of all – the views of incredible sunsets! The library room contains more than one thousand books on philosophy, history, sociology, religion, education, and literature can offer moments of quiet reading.
The villa is also equipped with four bedrooms, two on the first floor and two on the ground floor which can easily accommodate up to eight individuals. The two floors are connected by a wide indoor staircase and an elevator, suitable for those who have difficulties when managing a staircase. There are two bathrooms and one WC shared between the bedrooms with only one bathroom in-suite – located in the master bedroom – also including a walk-in closet. Each bedroom has unique sea views, private veranda or balcony, air conditioning unit, television, fully dressed comfortable beds, and classic or antique type of furniture. The third floor (basement) is used mainly for maintenance purposes, but does feature one more bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, home cinema, which can be used freely upon request.
A fully equipped kitchen with – an electric cooker, oven, microwave oven, refrigerator, freezer, dish washer, toaster, coffee maker, kettle, grill, fruit blender, smoothing-iron – is connected to the breakfast room. The veranda attached to the kitchen is well placed for enjoying your morning coffee and dining outside. The utility room within the kitchen area offers the facility of a clothing washing machine, freezer, and a second refrigerator. Coming outside of the kitchen veranda follows the barbecue area, shaded by mulberry trees and surrounded by bushes and flowers.
The estate features suitable private parking, partially shaded by a roof or by olive trees, which can easily accommodate a few cars. Next to it, the fruit orchard with citrus fruit trees, apricot and olive trees give you a sense of the local nature and products. A free broadband Internet access (Wireless 802.11ac, Ethernet), is provided indoor & outdoor of the villa premises.
Prines is a village located 6 km from Rethymno city, ideal for relaxation in the calmness of nature. Prines has maintained its traditional character with the detached houses and big yards, arches, domes, and stone staircases. The area of Prines offers a unique lash verdant environment with fruit and citrus plants, walnut trees, tall planes, as well as splendid oaks and olive trees rooted in the rocks. Prines includes an impressive oak forest. Locals and tourists gather in the two paved squares in a traditional picturesque ambiance and also to a third one in “Kato Vrisi”, surrounded by greenery. Last but not least is the oasis of Vederi with the churchyard of Saint John found within the oak forest which is a real gem of the region.

The owner was in connection with us before arrival which was very convenient. The villa was in a good distance from other houses, so it was quiet enough but not remote from shops and restaurants

We were a group of 7 adults (3 couples and 1 single). I cannot speak more highly about our experience at this villa. The villa is beautiful, spacious, clean and well equipped. We were greeted by the wonderful Eleni who was happy to help with any queries we had (from a reliable taxi service to help ordering a birthday cake) throughout our stay and was always a pleasure to speak to. The villa was well stocked when we arrived with juice, milk, beer, wine and fresh fruit which was so gratefully received after the long travelling day. The villa has everything, and more, that you would need in your stay and the pool and outdoor area is stunning. Our family group loved taking a dip in the pool to cool down and relax after a day of exploring. The villa is located on the edge of the village of Prines which has all the daily amenities you could need and has several bus stops in to Rethymno at a really low cost. We tried out all 3 tavernas which each had their own character and varied menus as well as friendly and accommodating hosts. The small shop was perfect for the essentials (including snacks!). Rethymno is only a 15 minute drive/taxi/bus trip and is a fabulous location for culture, shopping, food and a beach day. We would recommend the hop on bus tour for anyone new to the area, well worth the money and beautiful views. The villa was cleaned halfway through our stay and it was the most thorough clean we have ever seen during a stay, the cleaners were meticulous and clearly take pride in their work (and rightly so!) and were respectful of our privacy. We would absolutely recommend this villa to anyone looking for a relaxed holiday, in a beautiful location, with an excellent, welcoming and accommodating property management and cleaning team.
