The area of Prines offers a unique lash verdant environment with fruit and citrus plants, walnut trees, tall planes, as well as splendid oaks and olive trees rooted in the rocks. Prines includes an impressive oak forest. Locals and tourists gather in the two paved squares in a traditional picturesque ambiance and also to a third one in “Kato Vrisi”, surrounded by greenery. Well-kept swimming pool, lovely, roomy home with 4 bedrooms and bathrooms for each. Lovely terrace with grill, sun loungers, and two outside seating places. a roomy kitchen. Rethymnon is around 5 miles away. Road is conveniently located. The hostess is lovely and supportive.
Great villa, a charming village, and erratic weather. Overall, I had a wonderful time.
There were lots of towels, it was really clean, and the host was wonderful. She made many suggestions for places to visit and made reservations for us at many restaurants. For her, nothing was too much effort, and she was incredibly hospitable. Even better, they left us a lovely handmade cake. All of this contributed to a wonderful vacation, and the nearby tavernas were excellent.
This was the first villa we had rented in Greece where we weren't immediately attacked by bugs when we went to eat outside. Throughout our stay at the villa, the host was incredibly responsive and gave us travel suggestions. We had some Cretan specialties upon arrival and again in the middle of the week, and the villa was cleaned halfway through. a wonderful place to stay
We really loved this villa. The house itself is spacious, well equipped and stylish. The outside area is great, with a fantastic infinity pool and lovely places to sit. The air conditioning and sheltered outdoor space meant that we could cool off in the August heat.
The village of Prines is really peaceful and friendly with two good tavernas and mini markets. It is about a 15 minute drive to the busy town of Rethymnon which has lots of shops and restaurants.
The owners were fantastic, providing a welcome pack, home baked desserts and lots of help throughout our stay.
We would definitely love to return to Villa Olia - it is our favourite villa of the many villas that we have rented.
