Sitia is a town located 70 km east of Agios Nikolaos. The port of Sitia accommodates many fishing boats and several waterfront restaurants and cafes which create a colorful and relaxing atmosphere where visitors can taste local delicacies or enjoy a coffee. Sitia includes a sandy beach east of the port that offers various sea sport activities. A small part of the remains of a Venetian fortress which used to stand east of the town can be seen today, adding to the atmospheric beauty of Sitia.
