REVIEW SCORE

Villa Saletta Tuscany is an historic estate in the heart of Tuscany with a rich heritage of agriculture, including a modern boutique winery that produces a range of award-winning wines. Villa Saletta Tuscany is reinstating a tradition of luxurious hospitality with authenticity at its core. Villa Saletta has sat at the centre of Tuscan life for centuries. Its history can be traced back to 980AD, with the first written account of the estate’s winemaking. And whilst many things have changed since that era, each chapter of the estate’s history is captured within its walls and carved into its landscape.

Villa Fagnana at Villa Saletta Tuscany:

Villa Fagnana is a restored 19th century farmhouse that we have carefully renovated to feel like an idyllic family home nestled in the Tuscan hills. This beautiful retreat boasts superb views across the fields and valleys to the west of the estate.

The villa sleeps 14 people and consists of both the main house and a smaller annex, both finished to the highest possible standards. From the well-equipped kitchen you can walk through the comfortable lounge and on to the open terrace, with beautiful outside dining space complete with charcoal barbeque. The gardens have been simply landscaped to create a sense of seclusion, with outdoor pool and shaded seating area to while away long summer days (and nights) in complete privacy.

So you can keep in touch with the outside world if you wish, wireless internet access is available throughout. For entertainment, we also supply a DVD player and Bose iPod docking station. Both buildings are fully air conditioned/heated.

About the Location

Italy, Tuscany, Palaia

The picturesque and tranquil village of Palaia is located in the heart of the province of Pisa in Tuscan. Perched on the rolling hills above sea level it boasts mesmerizing panoramic views.

Palaia is predominantly an agricultural zone and is where the true character and traditions of Tuscan have survived since it is a place of rich history that dates back to the Early Middle Ages. The village is traditionally arranged around a central square and provides you with the best produce of the region, including wine, olive oil, and white truffle, samples of the Tuscan heritage. Palaia is also a good starting point for nature lovers who wish to explore the charming Tuscan countryside by organizing excursions. Some of the trails include the Great Nature Trail, which you can travel through on horseback, on foot, or on a bike.

Worthy cultural gems are the Church of Sant’Andrea, a Romanesque basilica that houses precious artworks, like the Wooden Crucifix by Andrea Pisano (1330) and the Madonna and Child by Francesco di Valdambrino (1403).

Despite its size, Palaia is a culturally vivid place with theatrical and musical festivals, including the Mauro Monni Theater Festival and Opera Under the Stars, wine events, such as the Civiltà Contadina Fest in Montefoscoli and the Summer Nights Festival. Do not skip a visit to the Truffle and Porcini Mushroom Market Fair in Forcoli to get a real taste of Tuscan!

Tuscany is a place like nowhere else in the world; this is the reason why this region is at the tops bucket lists all over the globe. Amazing landscapes, beautiful hilltop towns and the fantastic capital city of Florence charm everyone who decides to visit it. It is a majestic region with almost half of the artistic heritage of Italy and fantastic landscapes. Due to its mild weather, you could visit Tuscany all year round. It’s a region with exceptional art towns and hilltop villages and with a heritage of a glorious past with unspoiled nature, spectacular sea coast, and beautiful islands. Here you will taste some of the best wine varieties and then you can relax to one of its thermal spas.

The birthplace of the Roman Empire and Renaissance, Italy, showcases many of the world’s greatest artworks, architectural buildings and over the top gastronomical proposals. This is the country where the word “style” expresses the whole nation. Italy has more Unesco World Heritage cultural sites than any other country; among them are Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera, Michelangelo’s David and Sistine Chapel and da Vinci’s The Last Supper.
