The town has all the main shops and is a perfect setting out spot for visits to Pisa, Lucca, Pistoia, Firenze, San Gimignano, and Volterra, not to mention the Tyrrhenian coast and the Apuane Alps. The villa, recently restricted, has maintained its original architectural characteristics and has been transformed into a charming country villa laid out on three floors. It is surrounded by a 4000 sq. meter park which offers tranquility and shade thanks to its pinewood the perfect place to read a good book and enjoy a glass of wine surrounded by the pleasures of nature. In front of the villa, it is possible to enjoy dining outdoors, using tables and chairs protected by a large umbrella.
The spectacular pool (unusual measurements of 18 x 9 meters and 140 cms depth) offers good swimming as well as pleasant freshness. It is on a natural panoramic terrace looking out over the surrounding vineyards. Ideal for an evening aperitive it offers privacy and a solarium with pool loungers and umbrellas. As well as the main pool and just next to it there is a small pool for children (6x6 and 50 cms. depth). The villa has a Wifi Internet connection, inside and also on the verandah in front. There is a ping-pong, laundry area in an outside building, and exclusive parking. The outdoor area is fully equipped with appropriate furniture. the property has wine and olive oil production. The access o the property is by an asphalted road which finishes in a brief tract of unpaved road.
The picturesque and tranquil village of Palaia is located in the heart of the province of Pisa in Tuscan. Perched on the rolling hills above sea level it boasts mesmerizing panoramic views.
Palaia is predominantly an agricultural zone and is where the true character and traditions of Tuscan have survived since it is a place of rich history that dates back to the Early Middle Ages. The village is traditionally arranged around a central square and provides you with the best produce of the region, including wine, olive oil, and white truffle, samples of the Tuscan heritage. Palaia is also a good starting point for nature lovers who wish to explore the charming Tuscan countryside by organizing excursions. Some of the trails include the Great Nature Trail, which you can travel through on horseback, on foot, or on a bike.
Worthy cultural gems are the Church of Sant’Andrea, a Romanesque basilica that houses precious artworks, like the Wooden Crucifix by Andrea Pisano (1330) and the Madonna and Child by Francesco di Valdambrino (1403).
Despite its size, Palaia is a culturally vivid place with theatrical and musical festivals, including the Mauro Monni Theater Festival and Opera Under the Stars, wine events, such as the Civiltà Contadina Fest in Montefoscoli and the Summer Nights Festival.
