Maroulas is a quiet village above Rethymno, at an altitude of 150 meters facing the sea within a verdant ambiance including spring and several valleys. Maroulas displays a rich historical heritage and combines many architectural elements. Visitors will be enchanted by the two wonderful Venetian towers one of which is 44m high, by the remains of ancient tombstones, and by the many Byzantine churches. Only fifteen minutes separate this gorgeous villa from Rethymno Town. Both the views and the villa itself were breathtaking. The village is lovely and offers a couple of modest Tavernas for dinner. But you must definitely rent a car!
The house is gorgeous. It appears to be just like the web images. . There are numerous areas for unwinding and socializing there. The backyard and courtyard were magnificent. The courtyard was a nice place to eat. The pool's perfectly maintained temperature made it the ideal place to unwind. I wholeheartedly concur that anyone looking for a fantastic place to stay should consider the villa. It was wonderful to be able to get up every morning, get straight to the pool before leaving, and return at night to spend more time by the pool.
If you are looking for something really special, this is the right place! The villa is a historic building restored to preserve authenticity but also with modern amenities! It is situated in Maroulas at 15 minutes from the big city of Rethymno, which is very convenient and at 5 min from very nice beaches. The kitchen is a real pleasure with professional equipment, fully equipped. The pool is nice and very clean, with sunbeds, towels and a nice space to relax. We stayed here as a cople, for one week, in Venus apartment, that is very spacious, with nice furniture and with a breathtaking view. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean and very good quality. Sheets and towels changed regularly. What would you want more, than to wake up, to see the sea, the mountains, the pool, the green trees, flowers and to hear the birds! You feel like in Paradise!!
If you like to spend time on the beach I recommend Baja beach, which is a sandy beach, with very nice sunbeds, pool, bar, restaurant, Dj but also Petra beach and Spilies Beach, that are with stones, but also nice.
In the area there are a lot of restaurants and taverns. I recommend Prima Plora restaurant, near Rethymno, that is very nice, with sea view, and very good food and also Thavma tavern.
