A ten minute drive from Chania airport the property is accessed via an electric (remote control operated) gate providing privacy and has a large parking area for cars and space for one car in the car port.
The grounds of the villa include a pool (40 square metres, 1.50 metres deep) overlooking Souda Bay which has a children's area of 50cm deep for younger members of the family. Sunbeds and umbrellas surround the pool for relaxation and sunbathing (Pool towels provided). There is also a barbeque, outside kitchen and covered dining area perfect for drinks, snacks and outside dining. The remaining area has mature gardens with shaded hammocks/chairs and a children’s play area with a selection of children's outside toys. All areas have excellent wifi connections.
Ground floor:
(Air conditioned throughout): Large open plan area with luxury kitchen/dining area fitted with built-in appliances (fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven etc) and a central island with seating ensuring plenty of workspace. This opens onto a spacious living room with Panoramic sea views, Smart TV and a fireplace for early and late season cool nights. Glass sliding doors lead from the living room to the outside patio area and pool. Bedroom one (9 Square metres). Semi-double bed with fitted wardrobes and air conditioning. The ground floor also has a toilet/shower room.
First floor:
Master Bedroom (12.50 Square metres). King size bed and walk in wardrobe which also gives access to en suite bathroom with bathtub and WC. Bedroom also has and air conditioning. Private balcony with sea view.
Bedroom three (11 Square metres), 2 x Single bed (can be joined together to form a Queen size bed) with stand alone clothes rail and air conditioning. Shared balcony with sea view.
Bedroom four (8.85 Square metres). Standard double bed and fitted wardrobe and air conditioning. Shared balcony with sea view. Additional built in wardrobes are also available on the First floor corridor. Laundry room with Washing machine/Tumble Dryer
Lower Ground floor/Basement:
(30 square Metres): Self-contained studio (air-conditioned) with double bed and a single bed, shower room/WC, Refrigerator and smart TV.
Korakies is a settlement close to the airport of Chania that belongs to the region of Akrotiri. It boasts great views of the Souda Bay and the White Mountains, offering a striking combination of contradictory sceneries, the Aegean blue and the wild mountainous landscape of Crete, all in one enchanting picture. Akrotiri Peninsula lies just 6km from the Venetian Port and its mesmerizing Old Town, also known as the "Venice of the East". Near Korakies several beaches are found with turquoise waters and soft sand, like Marathi and Loutraki (11km away), as well as Kalathas, Tersanas, and Stavros beach (12km away). Stavros is also the location where Anthony Quinn filmed the Oscar-winning movie "Zorbas the Greek". At a short distance, one can find two of Crete's most beautiful historical monasteries, the Monastery of the Trinity and the Gouverneto Monastery.

This house is perfect for a family holiday. It is very spacious and the outdoor kitchen and dining area by the pooI is fabulous. The separate, shallow part of the pool for small children was reassuring and there were lots of pool toys. It’s a rare bonus in Greece to have so much lawn around the house for the kids to play on. The location was great, being only about 15 mins from both the airport and Chania town centre. Although close to amenities, the breathtaking view over the olive trees and Souda Bay make you feel instantly relaxed! You definitely need a car to get around and get to the many different beaches within a short drive. Nikos, the owner, greeted us, and was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. He also arranged for a local guide to come to the house to give us recommendations of things to do and make reservations at non-touristy restaurants, which were all great. All around a quality experience and I would thoroughly recommend it!
