Korakies is a settlement close to the airport of Chania that belongs to the region of Akrotiri. It boasts great views of the Souda Bay and the White Mountains, offering a striking combination of contradictory sceneries, the Aegean blue and the wild mountainous landscape of Crete, all in one enchanting picture. Akrotiri Peninsula lies just 6km from the Venetian Port and its mesmerizing Old Town, also known as the "Venice of the East". Near Korakies several beaches are found with turquoise waters and soft sand, like Marathi and Loutraki (11km away), as well as Kalathas, Tersanas, and Stavros beach (12km away).
