The property is set on 5300m2 of private grounds in a residential area just outside the coastal village of Kalyves in Western Crete and has, therefore, a variety of traditional taverns, restaurants, shops, and 3 beaches on the doorstep. The popular historic town of Chania is also nearby (approximately a 20-minute drive) and therefore offers a great opportunity for day trips. The villa is surrounded by lush gardens, flowering plants, an organic vegetable garden, and other Mediterranean vegetation. Several al fresco dining and lounge terraces, a great BBQ suite with an outdoor oven, and plenty of room for children to play safely, invite the guests to relax and enjoy themselves to the fullest. The highlight, however, is the stunning views of Kalyve's lush olive groves, stunning mountain scenery, and the Aegean Sea. Needless to say, these sea views are simply breathtaking.
Cave Villa Chania consists of two-bedroom wings and one main large open plan living, dining, and kitchen. The interiors are decorated in a sophisticated contemporary style creating a soothing and fun-filled atmosphere with soft earthy colors. The main living, dining, and kitchen area opens out to the sheltered outdoor living areas with bi-fold doors the length of one side and sliding doors on the other bringing the outdoors in.
There are four main bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms, one with a bath and another bathroom downstairs making it easy to wash off after your day at the beach or after swimming in your 10-meter private pool. The property has A/C throughout with separately controlled A/C in each bedroom. From the bedrooms, you can walk out onto your own terrace and enjoy your morning beverage with a perfect view. Cave Villa Chania provides plenty of space for couples, families, or groups of friends. The open-plan living and dining areas, as well are the fully-equipped kitchen and separate pantry, have contemporary style with all the modern amenities. This villa offers all the modern comforts to enjoy unique moments and quality time of relaxation any time during the year. Awaken your senses and experience the delight of fresh clean seawater, warm sunshine, cool mountain air, and soft golden sand.
On the ground floor, you can find a spacious entrance hall that leads to an open-plan living and dining area (seats up to 8 persons), elegantly decorated in country chic style and with large bi-fold doors and sliding doors on either side opening out onto the lounge and al fresco dining terraces. You can find also a well-equipped kitchen with all modern cons and an oversized island bench with seating - equipped with a cooktop, extractor, and sink, four double bedrooms with a 1.80m bed, A/C, and sliding doors opening out onto your own courtyard with mountain and sea views; all with en suite bathrooms and a laundry with washing machine and an extra bathroom with shower.
Outdoors you can find spacious terraces for dining and relax, a built-in BBQ corner outdoor oven and bar, well-landscaped gardens with lawns, flowering plants, local vegetation -5300m2 olive groves surrounds the property,4 x 10-meter swimming pool with sunbeds, and umbrellas. Cave Villa Chania is also equipped with CCTV security cameras for safety reasons.
Kalyves Chania is a picturesque seaside village located 20 km southeast of Chania city. It is a calm tourist resort, ideal for families with modern touristic infrastructure and a long sandy beach nearby. Kalyves consists of two settlements, the old and the new town. The village displays stone-built houses with the characteristic red-tiled roofs. The beach is long, sandy, and organized with all amenities. In the square of the village, there is an old watermill that is no longer in use. Other beautiful villages in the region worth visiting are Armeni, with large plane trees and streams, and Neo Chorio, with a Venetian press oil.

Villas in a beautiful location are quite nice! Onsite parking is available. The outdoor space is nice with spots to sunbathe, eat, and even play badminton, and the pool is a fair size. The interior was spacious and immaculate.

She is very helpful and lovely always there when you need her in on what you might need and will take care of any arrangements you need for day trips, yoga teacher, masseuse, anything else you many need, from setting up. Everything! The villa, pool and garden were absolutely stunning. It had everything we could possibly need and Philippa, our host, couldn't do enough for us! The location was great, there is a supermarket nearby and Kalyves is only a few minutes' drive down the hill (it is walkable too). It is a lovely little town with some great tavernas and a super clean beach.

Villa was superb, and completely met the high expectations that had been set by previous reviewers. The villa is extremely well kitted-out and well-designed, and ideal for families and group travel, with lots of open-plan spaces to socialise and relax. You will never get tired of the view looking out over the pool. Great restaurants within walking distance, as is an excellent beach, and a supermarket that has everything that you need. We had great fun BBQ'ing, and doing a segway tour in Chania - which I would recommend for seeing the city without having to walk too far!
