Ancient Ialyssos of Rhodes used to be one of three earliest city-states on Rhodes Island. Ialyssos is located about 10 to 15 km away from the present town of Rhodes on top of a fortified hill. In the 20th century, under the ruling of Italians, an old Byzantine monastery of the 6th century was rebuilt into a church in order to attract tourists. It comprised four chapels, one dedicated to the Orthodox Christians, one to the Catholics, one to the Knights and one to its old relics. It is worth to drive around the island and explore its magnificent beaches, its impressive sights and picturesque villages. Rhodes predominant element is its medieval architecture and the many interesting monuments scattered around the island. The Old Town of Rhodes is a true gem to walk around, a beautiful relic of the past. For us, two families with a total of 3 children, it was very convenient as it has 4 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable living room. Each bedroom has a queen size bed and private bathroom. Three bedrooms facing the street, one facing the beach. Another feature: a large garden terrace with swimming pool. And of course, let's not forget: The residence is right on the beach.
The accommodation is incredibly well equipped, we are really excited, the location right on the sea incredibly beautiful. Everything is really new and next door is the famous bikini bar, so you can hear the sounds of music from there at night. Also, our manager was extremely nice and very, very helpful.
We checked into a beachfront home that was incredibly clean. We were warmly welcomed by the host, who was also quite helpful. She offered contact information for area businesses, which greatly improved our experience. We had a wonderful time here and would highly recommend it to friends and family.
The private pool area was well-kept and perfect for relaxing for 8 folks. The communal garden was right next to the beach, which was a major advantage. After an early flight, the packed fridge was extremely pleasantly appreciated, and the check-in and check-out procedures were quite simple. Without a doubt, I'd advise it and intend to return.
