Ancient Ialyssos of Rhodes used to be one of three earliest city-states on Rhodes Island. Ialyssos is located about 10 to 15 km away from the present town of Rhodes on top of a fortified hill. In the 20th century, under the ruling of Italians, an old Byzantine monastery of the 6th century was rebuilt into a church in order to attract tourists. It comprised four chapels, one dedicated to the Orthodox Christians, one to the Catholics, one to the Knights and one to its old relics. It is worth to drive around the island and explore its magnificent beaches, its impressive sights and picturesque villages. We stayed for a week at Villa Small Paradise in October. The villa is impressive and well thought out, thanks to Maria's vision - with all of the extra touches. This is the first villa that we have stayed in that has had absolutely everything we needed and more - from robes and slippers to straighteners and shaving cream. It also has every appliance and utensil you could possibly need in the kitchen. It has that luxury hotel feel. It is also immaculately spotless thanks to Natasha's who is also a wonderful asset to the villa. She is warm and friendly - even leaving us a couple of tasty samples of some delightful drinks we had never tried before.
Although the villa is attached, this did not impact on our stay.
On arrival we met our host Maria who is everything a host of a villa should be. She is knowledgeable, friendly and thoughtful. We arrived to an array of tasty treats and a good few beverages which meant we did not have to do anything on our first evening except unwind in the jacuzzi - which is another gold star for this villa. Although Maria stays in an apartment which is joined to the villa, the villa is completely private and we only saw her when she was cleaning the pool or leaving the apartment.
Our week flew in and although we really simply relaxed for our week the villa is very close to Rhodes Town and a short drive - 3 minutes - to the nearest supermarket and pharmacy.
Also it only took 15 minutes to get there from the airport but there is no noise or planes flying over.
All in all we had a lovely relaxing holiday. Thank you for your fine hospitality Maria.
We have just returned from our holiday in Rhodes. We stayed just outside Rhodes town itself in an idyllic and stunningly beautiful villa; Villa Small Paradise. The owner is Maria, who could not be any more accommodating and charming. The villa is set over two floors with a huge living room, three large rooms (all with balconies and bathrooms), a well equipped kitchen, a fabulous veranda (where we ate each morning), an amazing swimming pool as well as a very relaxing jacuzzi.
It is just off the beaten track, but that makes it quiet and VERY relaxing. I'd recommend getting a car to explore this fabulous island. You can park it on the electronic gated driveway.
Shops and restaurants are relatively nearby - and all are easily accessible. Whilst there, our bedding and towels were replaced several times by a lovely house maid called Natasha.
This really is a lovely villa. I can not recommend it enough.
The Villa was excellent with super facilities that include a good pool, hot tub, & table tennis.
The Gardens are beautiful and well maintained.
Maria, who owns the Villa, is on hand to help with any help and advice.
The layout of the Villa is perfect and we had everything we could possibly need or want.
The Air conditioning worked well and the bedrooms with Ensuites were well appointed.
The extra touches that Maria had provided were really very good, such as Pool towels, Beach Towels, Games, sports equipment, welcoming food drinks and gifts.
We all had a very enjoyable stay and look forward to a return visit.
