Built from a peasant farmhouse of the early 1800s, expertly restored and transformed to be lived throughout the year, the Villa is located near Città di Castello, in the Upper Tiber Valley, a few kilometers from Tuscany but also very close to the most beautiful art cities of Umbria.
An ideal place to spend relaxing days and to relive the rural tradition in a pleasant and peaceful environment, surrounded by farmlands and woods. Villa La Meridiana also boasts sixteen hectares of meadows and hills cultivated with organic farming like a vineyard, wheat, corn, and sunflowers. The venue is also pet-friendly.
Among the accommodations, you will find a three-room apartment of 70 square meters. Another one is located on the first floor, with an independent entrance, which has a double bedroom, a bedroom with two beds and a single sofa bed, bathroom with shower and related services, independent heating, a shared washing machine, and then a 65 sq.m. ground floor composed of an independent entrance, double bedroom, large living room with fireplace and double sofa bed, full kitchen, spacious bathroom with shower and full services, independent heating. Furthermore, Villa La Meridiana features another three-room apartment of 70 square meters on the first floor. with separate entrance, two bedrooms (one double – with the possibility of an extra bed – and a double), a large living room with fireplace, kitchen, bathroom with shower and related services and a further three-room apartment of 65 square meters located on the ground floor with independent entrance and structured also to accommodate people with disabilities. Inside this space consists of a double bedroom and a bedroom with 2 beds, a large living room with fireplace and a double sofa bed, a kitchen, a spacious bathroom with a shower and services.
Outside the estate, there is a large and comfortable swimming pool (7 x 14 meters) surrounded by a green garden. The pool is surrounded by a solarium equipped with umbrellas and sunbeds and a gazebo with tables and chairs. The structure also has a barbecue, a wood-burning oven, wi-fi, table tennis, a large organic vegetable garden with all kinds of veggies available for free for guests, and mountain bikes for everyone at no extra cost. At 300 meters there is a small lake for fishing. Not far away there is a tennis court, a riding school, and an equipped airfield for flights with Cesna planes.
The flow of time of your holiday here will be marked by a sundial, an instrument that measured the hours of the day at the time of the Romans then replaced by the hands of the clocks, from which the name of this dwelling takes its origins.
Perugia is a beautiful medieval city in Umbria, rich in history and art, and its surroundings include evident elements of the Etruscan and the Roman civilizations. The modern part of town is dominated by the presence of its prestigious university which creates a pleasant buzz. There are interesting attractions and a vibrant day scene as well as nightlife with great restaurants and nightspots that make it a very lively place. The historical center displays labyrinth alleys, beautiful arched stairways, and piazzas framed by magnificent palazzi. Its location is offered for daily excursions to places such as Assisi, Spello, and Gubbio. Perugia is just a couple of hours drive north of Rome.
Important sights in the city include the Etrurian Well that is not only a historical site, but is today still the main water source in the city. Besides the well, there are many Etrurian tombs. The 'artistic' center of Perugia revolves around Piazza IV Novembre, where still stands part of the walls that once belonged to the Etruscan city and were accessed using the ancient gates such as the Porta della Mandorla, Porta Marzia and Porta Trasimeno. Other sights of religious importance are the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, Basilica of San Domenico and San Pietro church.
