About the Location

Greece, Lefkada

Tsoukalades is a mountainous village located 6 km west of the capital town. It is situated between Lefkada Town and Agios Nikitas. The area is a fine example of traditional architecture with lovely stone-built houses and tiled roofs with special details such as yellowish roof tiles. In recent years there has been a development of touristic facilities and establishment of new villas and holiday homes. The area around the village is surrounded by a dense pine forest that goes all the way down to the sea. There is a path that passes through the forest and leads to the popular Pefkoulia beach. Tsoukalades is also famous for its mesmerizing sunsets.

Lefkada belongs to the Ionian island group, located west of the Greek mainland, known for its vivid turquoise sea color. Beaches, like Porto Katsiki, Kathisma and Egremni, are among the most photographed places in Greece. It is called by many the Caribbean of Greece for obvious reasons. Connected to the mainland through a bridge, Lefkada has the advantage that it can be accessed by car. This island will cover all tastes; it is the perfect place for families, romantic couples but also large groups of friends who want to relax and enjoy themselves.

The Ionian Islands are located on the western side of Greece and are historically and culturally strongly connected to Italy with many evident elements of this. The architecture of the capital towns, including Corfu Town, Zakynthos Town and Argostoli, resembles a lot to the Venetian style as these islands were occupied by the Venetians in the medieval times. Another striking characteristic of Ionian Greece is the lush green nature and the aquamarine beaches with white soft sand. Corfu, Zakynthos, Kefalonia and Lefkada are the most popular holiday islands. The Ionian islands also embrace an amazing music and dance tradition.

5 star villa and service

My wife and I stayed for a week at Villa Rodia in September. On arrival we were greeted by Dina and her staff with a very warm welcome. They are always on hand to assist if and when required.

The villa was of 5 star standard. The breakfast each morning was always delicious.

We could not fault anything about our stay and would highly recommend Art Blue Villas.

Thanks once again Dina and team.

Traumurlaub und mehr (Meer)

Wir waren im Juni 2018 nun das dritte Mal auf Lefkada. Und natürlich zum dritten Mal in den Art Blue Villas. Wenn man einmal dort gewohnt hat will man nirgend wo anders hin.

Nachdem wir in den ersten beiden Jahren jeweils 2 Wochen in Villa Rodia verbracht haben, waren wir dieses Jahr für drei Wochen in Villa Aledora.

Nach sehr umfangreichen Umbau-und Renovierungsarbeiten im Winter 2017/2018 im Innen- und Aussenbereich sind die Villen noch schöner und luxuriöser geworden als in den Jahren zuvor. ( was auch schon kaum zu toppen war )

Wir fühlen uns als Gäste von Dina und Kostas mehr als wohl. Wir sagen immer, wir fahren in unser zweites Zuhause.

Wir lieben es einfach Morgens den Tag auf der Terrasse, mit Blick über den privaten Pool und das Meer, bei einem liebevoll zubereitetem Frühstück, was zur Villa gebracht wird, zu beginnen.

Es ist für uns einfach immer wieder ein Traum die Ruhe und den Luxus in den Villen genießen zu dürfen.

Der Reinigungsservice, der jeden Tag stattfindet, ist mehr als gründlich.

Also einfach immer ein perfekter Urlaub für uns und wir hoffen bald wieder zurück kehren zu können...

Such a wonderful place to stay!

This visit was our fourth and we were excited to see the changes that Kostas and Dina had made to the Villa. We were not disappointed! Everything was still so lovely and familiar but the improvements they have made are absolutely marvellous. I was comparing photos from 2016 and 2017 and the vista from the Villa Rodia is even more amazing.

The whole Villa feels so much bigger and better arranged. I couldn’t wait to watch the amazing sunsets over the Ionian Sea again - from the patio, from the living area and now also from the bedroom, as the internal walls have been removed. The outside space and sittting areas were so much better and more comfortable.

But there was still the amazing hospitality and greeting from Dina and Kostas and their team - Katarina and Natasha. We were so well looked after, daily house-keeping, any suggestions for things we needed we given to us and nothing was too much trouble. Katarina even offered to help us when we had a flat tyre!

And those breakfasts! Still fantastic - totally filling and fresh everything! Juice, yoghurt, pastries, cakes, meat, cheese and salads. We hardly had to eat anywhere else! They are beautifully put together and delivered to you each morning st your request. Such a perfect way to start the day! Thank you!

We never go on holiday to the same place more than once - Art Blue Villas, Villa Rodia and the wonderful Dina and Kostas are the exception!! We are already planning our visit to lovely Lefkada and Villa Rodia and Art Blue Villas for 2019.

Wiederholungstäter!

Wir waren jetzt zum 2. Mal in der Villa Rodia. Die ruhige Lage mit fantastischem Meerblick inkl. Sonnenuntergang hat uns überzeugt. Großer Dank auch an Dina und Kostas für das tolle Frühstück jeden Morgen zur Wunschzeit. Nach Tsoukaladhes sind es 3 min mit dem Auto - dort gibt es zwei kleine Supermärkte und einige Tavernen. Der nächste Strand mit Liegen und Gastronomie ist das "Deck" 10 Autominuten entfernt. Tsoukaladhes hat einen einsameren steinigen naturbelassenen Strand. Wir haben Villa Rodia für 2018 schon gebucht.

Amazing stay at Art Blue Villas!

My husband and I stayed at Art Blue Villas in villa Rodia for seven nights and truly cannot express how pleased we were with our stay. The villa was extraordinarily clean, modern, comfortable, spacious, tastefully decorated, well appointed, and centrally located to explore all of the natural beauty that the island has to offer. The private pool, beautiful gardens, panoramic sea views, and spectacular sunset were also beyond our wildest imagination. The entire staff was exceptionally welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. We were provided with a number of recommendations related to local attractions, restaurants, and beaches upon our arrival and all of the recommendations were absolutely lovely. In addition, we were welcomed with fresh fruits, home made cake, and a bottle of local wine. The daily hand selected and home made breakfasts delivered at the time of our choice were incredibly fresh and delicious. There is not a single detail that Dina and her husband have not thought. They and the entire staff were tremendous and we could not have asked for a more perfect stay on such a beautiful island. We cannot wait to return in the future!

The most wonderful, peaceful, breathtaking and amazing place

The Art Blue Villas are everything you hope for and more. This is the very first time when the pictures on the internet did not do its justice. It looked even more beautiful in real!

We (couple) stayed for 10 nights at the Villa Rhodia at the end of September. The views are stunning, the sunsets absolutely breathtaking, the pool is beautiful and the whole space is huge for 2 people. There are 4 Sunbeds, 2 decks.We especially enjoyed the quietness and how no one can actually look into your villa, nor the pool - from either sides. Gives you this very exclusive feeling of being on your own without anyone disturbing and really being able to completely relax. Before we booked we were thinking of booking the bigger villa - just so we have enough space. Its the first thing we said when we arrived, that the bigger one would have been way too big since Rhodia was already huge. All the staff are extremely welcoming, that goes from the pool boy, to the cleaning ladies (unfortunately forgotten her name) - she was absolutely adorable and amazing. Dina was really really nice too with lots of useful tips for places to go. It was always spottless clean.IT seemed like no question was too much for anyone. You even get extra towels for the pool. Free WIFI all day.But what we were most amazed by was the breakfast. You can tick a list the day before of things you would like for breakfast - there is really everything on it, from donughts, to home made bread, greek specialities, frehsly squeezed juices etc. You could taste that everything was really freshly made and filled us up until the evening since there were huge portions. Amazing welcome package on arrival - we had a fresh cake, fruits, wine etc everything ready when we arrived which was a lovely tought.

I read in a review before we arrived that the only real issue at the Villa is, that it is so nice that you almost don't want to leave it, but that would be a shame because there are some really really beautiful beaches very close by. We absolutely experienced the same problem! :)

All in all - it was the perfect holiday and we would most definitely come back.

One thing may be worth mentioning - make sure you have a good car to get there - the villas are on a very steep hill (hence the great views), and our little car could almost not take it! But with appropriate speed and swing we managed :)

Luxuriöse Villen mit traumhaften Ausblick!

Wir waren dieses Jahr im Juni für eine Woche in einer der Art Blue Villas zu Gast. Das Ferienhaus (unseres war die Villa Rodia) war einfach perfekt! Durch die wunderschöne Hanglage hat man einen freien Blick auf das Meer. Die Villa verfügt über einen privaten Pool und ist perfekt ausgestattet. Die Eigentümer Dina und Costas erfüllen jeden Wunsch und sind wundervolle Gastgeber! Das war sicherlich nicht unser letzter Besuch in den Art Blue Villas auf Lefkada!

Traumhafte Tage in Villa Rodia verbracht!

Wir verbrachten drei entspannte Nächte in der Villa Rodia! Sehr herzliche Begrüßung mit Willkommensgeschenken wie 1 Flasche Wein, Kuchen, Brot, Saft, Milch, Wasser, Butter, Honig, Kekse! Gut ausgestattete Küche, es fehlte an gar nix. Es gab eine Kapselkaffeemaschine mit 2 Paketen Kapseln dabei. Holzkohle und Anzünder für den Steingrill waren auch vorhanden. Extra Pooltücher gab es auch noch zu den Duschtüchern! Sehr schöne liebevolle Einrichtung der Räume. Man fühlte sich direkt heimelig! Es war alles aufeinander abgestimmt. Alles blitzeblank sauber! Tolle Aussicht aufs Meer von der Terrasse aus und das Highlight war natürlich der Überlauf-Pool! Auch sehr für Kinder geeignet da nicht so tief und beim Einstieg flacher, es wird erst langsam tiefer! Außendusche gab es und gemütliche Liegen zum chillen waren auch vorhanden! Kostenloses Wlan! Sehr, sehr nette Eigentümer, wir wurden am 2. Tag nochmals mit leckerem selbstgebackenem Kuchen verwöhnt :-) Ohne Auto ist man allerdings dort nicht so gut bedient. Sehr steile Auffahrt und ca. 3 Autominuten vom Dorf Tsoukalades entfernt. Dort gibt es Mini-Märkte, 1 Bäckerei und etliche Tavernen. Hervorheben möchte ich die Taverne Kampos. Am Ortseingang von Lefkas-Stadt kommend, links ab ein Paar Meter ins Feld rein. Kleiner Bauernhof vorhanden, Selbstversorger!!! Tolle Strände sind ebenfalls in ein paar Autominuten zu erreichen! Also, wenn nochmal Lefkas dann wieder Tsoukalades! Art Blue Villas!!!! Hier stimmt einfach alles!!!
