About the Location

Greece, Lefkada

Tsoukalades is a mountainous village located 6 km west of the capital town. It is situated between Lefkada Town and Agios Nikitas. The area is a fine example of traditional architecture with lovely stone-built houses and tiled roofs with special details such as yellowish roof tiles. In recent years there has been a development of touristic facilities and establishment of new villas and holiday homes. The area around the village is surrounded by a dense pine forest that goes all the way down to the sea. There is a path that passes through the forest and leads to the popular Pefkoulia beach. Tsoukalades is also famous for its mesmerizing sunsets.

Lefkada belongs to the Ionian island group, located west of the Greek mainland, known for its vivid turquoise sea color. Beaches, like Porto Katsiki, Kathisma and Egremni, are among the most photographed places in Greece. It is called by many the Caribbean of Greece for obvious reasons. Connected to the mainland through a bridge, Lefkada has the advantage that it can be accessed by car. This island will cover all tastes; it is the perfect place for families, romantic couples but also large groups of friends who want to relax and enjoy themselves.

The Ionian Islands are located on the western side of Greece and are historically and culturally strongly connected to Italy with many evident elements of this. The architecture of the capital towns, including Corfu Town, Zakynthos Town and Argostoli, resembles a lot to the Venetian style as these islands were occupied by the Venetians in the medieval times. Another striking characteristic of Ionian Greece is the lush green nature and the aquamarine beaches with white soft sand. Corfu, Zakynthos, Kefalonia and Lefkada are the most popular holiday islands. The Ionian islands also embrace an amazing music and dance tradition.

Villa ALEDORA

I visited Aledora villa with my family. From the first moment we were all thrilled with the incredible view, the multi functional villa with beautiful aesthetics. The staff impeccable, the owners excellent, always available, discreet and very polite. I would definitely repeat this trip.

Ionian sunset, Pomegranates, Tranquility

High against a terraced hill with a stunning western view of the Ionian Sea and layers of mountains to the east, the Art Blue Villas enjoy a prized setting for a tranquil holiday. Our villa, Aledora, is nestled among olive, pomegranate, quince, and apple trees, the stone walkways lined with enormous rosemary bushes and an array of flowering plants. The villa has been designed with great attention to aesthetic details--a soothing palate of greys and sand-colored stucco and tiles. The sparkling infinity pool solely for our use is steps from the interior of the villa, surrounded by a terrace with a table under a pergola, comfortable chairs and banquette with pillows, a grill, and a double pool bed. Each of the 2 bedrooms has an excellent bathroom, french windows with screens, very comfortable beds--and the entire place is spotless. The other villas are out of view, providing excellent privacy. As lovely as the building and setting are the owners and friendly staff who greeted us every morning with an enormous breakfast of local delicacies: cheeses, yogurt, fruit, special homemade cakes and homemade pitas (not to be missed), freshly squeezed orange juice, loaves of just-baked bread, and more, all of the highest quality. And then there is the helpfulness of Dina to organize outings on beautiful Lefkada. In September we enjoyed miles of beach to ourselves on the especially striking western coast, spared the over-development of the eastern side. This is an island to be enjoyed by car with little inland villages tucked along winding roads, against precipitous drops. Driving in the interior is not for the faint-hearted, but the roads are generally in good condition, and the experience of meeting ever-hospitable Greek merchants and restaurant owners is always interesting. Don't be surprised if your waiter is a mechanical engineer. The struggle for employment is a Greek reality, but the Greek people never impose their personal struggles on tourists. That said, engaging in political discussions is always illuminating. After long days of wandering around the island, the return to the villa for the sunset, enjoying excellent local Lefkadian wines, sometimes cooking a meal and sometimes going out brought beautiful days to a close. This property with its thoughtful owners and cheerful staff provide a true escape from work and worry.

Absolutely beautiful!

We fell in love with this place at once. We stayed at the villa Aledora which was situated in a lovely and private place. The house was just renovated in a very stylish and cosy style and was equipped with all we needed. We also liked the architecture were much. The outdoor surroundings and the pool was lovely and every evening we could enjoy a breathtaking sunset.

The staff was very friendly and did what they could to ensure that we had a good time. The place was very clean and the breakfast was particularly tasteful and delicate. We highly recommend this villa and will definitely come back.

Traumurlaub und mehr (Meer)

Wir waren im Juni 2018 nun das dritte Mal auf Lefkada. Und natürlich zum dritten Mal in den Art Blue Villas. Wenn man einmal dort gewohnt hat will man nirgend wo anders hin.

Nachdem wir in den ersten beiden Jahren jeweils 2 Wochen in Villa Rodia verbracht haben, waren wir dieses Jahr für drei Wochen in Villa Aledora.

Nach sehr umfangreichen Umbau-und Renovierungsarbeiten im Winter 2017/2018 im Innen- und Aussenbereich sind die Villen noch schöner und luxuriöser geworden als in den Jahren zuvor. ( was auch schon kaum zu toppen war )

Wir fühlen uns als Gäste von Dina und Kostas mehr als wohl. Wir sagen immer, wir fahren in unser zweites Zuhause.

Wir lieben es einfach Morgens den Tag auf der Terrasse, mit Blick über den privaten Pool und das Meer, bei einem liebevoll zubereitetem Frühstück, was zur Villa gebracht wird, zu beginnen.

Es ist für uns einfach immer wieder ein Traum die Ruhe und den Luxus in den Villen genießen zu dürfen.

Der Reinigungsservice, der jeden Tag stattfindet, ist mehr als gründlich.

Also einfach immer ein perfekter Urlaub für uns und wir hoffen bald wieder zurück kehren zu können...

Séjour parfait !!

Dina, son mari et leur équipe sont vraiment au service de leurs hôtes, c'est un plaisir. Le ménage est fait quotidiennement, rapidement et efficacement, par une équipe de 2 personnes. La piscine est vérifiée tous les jours, et nettoyée si nécessaire (comme c'est une piscine à débordement, elle ne se salit quasiment pas, puisque les déchets flottent et sont évacués par le débordement). Cette vérification/nettoyage est effectuée très tôt et très silencieusement (je me levais tôt, donc je le voyais, mais ma famille qui dormait ne se rendait compte de rien). Le petit déjeuner est vraiment extra, commandé la veille et apporté à l'heure de notre choix. C'était vraiment très copieux, avec un très large choix de produits (jus 'ange frais, smoothies, oeufs, bacon, pain, saucisse, lait et lait chocolaté, fromage, tomates, concombre, feuilletés au fromage ou aux épinards maison...). Nous avons également eu des conseils sur les sorties à faire sur l'île.

La villa est exactement identique aux photos présentées, magnifique, et très bien entretenue. Nous avons loué la villa Aledora puis la villa Levanda, construites sur le même modèle simple et efficace, et parfaitement isolées les unes des autres: nous n'avions aucune visibilité sur les villas voisines (et vice versa). La villa est à proximité du village de Tsoukalades (moins de 5 minutes en voiture, mais ça grimpe beaucoup), dans lequel il y a des tavernes, mini supermarchés, boulangerie, et à 10 minutes de la ville de Leucade. Nous avons apprécié les moustiquaires installées sur toutes les fenêtres de la maison, ce qui permettait de profiter des courants d'air sans avoir les inconvénients des insectes. Les enfants ont préféré mettre la climatisation aux heures chaudes (ce qui aurait été possible dans toute la villa, mais nous n'en avons pas vu l'intérêt). Petit plus: les plantations autour de la villa incluent des herbes aromatiques, dont je me suis servie pour la cuisine !

Cette location est plutôt une résidence hôtelière, avec les avantages d'un hôtel (ménage quotidien, petit déjeuner), et d'une location "classique" avec piscine. C'était exactement ce que nous recherchions, ce fut un séjour très apaisant et ressourçant, et rendu encore plus agréable par nos hôtes, Dina et Kostas. Nous y reviendrons certainement dans un futur proche.

Paradijsjeh

We verbleven in mei 1 week in Villa Aledora van Art Blue villa's. Alles klopt hier; geweldige gastvrijheid (een fles wijn, een zelfgemaakte cake en vers fruit in je villa bij aankomst), een zeer compleet ingerichte villa, een geweldig uitzicht, een fantastisch vers, compleet en lokaal ontbijt, heerlijk eiland en bovenal de persoonlijke aandacht van Kostas, Dina en Rosa.

We hebben nog nooit een villa gehuurd waar aan alle details is gedacht, de inrichting is echt volledig, het is zeer sfeervol gestyled en de bedden (Simmons; even gegoogled en alleen hotel des Indes in Den Haag heeft deze bedden in Nederland) zijn van een topkwaliteit.

We komen zeker terug.

Cosy villa (Aledora), wonderful direct view to the sea, nice surrounding around the house, very hospitable owners and homemade breakfast every morning... and of course the infinity pool. It was worth visiting Lefkada outside the season...

Exceeding our expectations

We stayed in Villa Aledora for a week and wished it was longer. The villas are all well designed with privacy from one another. Each is very well equipped compared to any others we have stayed in across the Ionians. Espresso machines, beautiful artisan herbal teas, gorgeous toiletries, fab welcome pack, cotton robes, all those extra touches which make these villas feel like you are in an top hotel with more space and peace. The sunsets never fail to provide a wow moment... And neither does breakfast. Gorgeously prepared you have a choice of food and times. Freshly squeezed orange juice, homemade granola, Greek yoghurt or hams, cheeses, fresh bread and traditional Greek ours and sweet pastries. It served us as a brunch each day, we definitely didn't need lunch. Dina us so helpful giving insight to the best places to eat and things to see. All were spot on. The island is small enough to easily travel to the south in 45 mins and yet it's just a quick drive from the airport. You do need a car to explore but this is a fan base. The whole team, lovely Eleni who came to clean everyday ( and help with our Greek) was gorgeous. Every villa has a pool and an unobstructed view.

We're hoping to go back again next year. Kostas & Dina have created our perfect holiday base. Thank you for everything... And the gift at the end of our stay. So happy that we found you

Divine place

We stayed in "Aledora" villa for six nights. It was absolutely the best vacation residence we have ever been! Best customer experience far beyond any competition! First of all, each villa is totally integrated in the physical environment, surrounded by olive oil trees, with a spectacular view of the north-west side of the island, which resembles to Santorini caldera view. The villa is fully equipped with all necessary equipment for a relaxed and luxurious staying, everything is top-level clean (e.g. the kitchenware was even better than our home). There is also a private pool outdoors with all necessary resting furniture, everything just like new. The daily cleaning service is the best we have seen, even better than a 5-star hotel, giving the feeling of being at your own home! The hand-made breakfast is outstanding and delicious, with a variety of choices for kids and adults. The hospitality of Mrs Ntina and Mr. Kostas (who own and run the complex) is top notch, fully professional and customer friendly! We spent the best vacation period and we plan to visit again "Art Blue Villas" next year with our friends!!!

Place to be

Once again,ArtBlue Villas proved its value.We came back year after year for our spot into the sun,perfect relaxation and spoiled moments. The only concern of the hosts, Kostas &Dina is the guests wellbeing.This year we stay in Aledora, spotless clean,of course great view and a special and greek gourmand breakfast every day.

Paradise on earth

Loved our week in Villa Aledora..amazing view of the sea..beautiful sunset..perfect size for a family with 2 small kids..A very warm welcome from Dina with a fruits platter, an apple cake and a bottle of rosé.. A no brainer

A little taste of paradise

The villas are located high up on a hill in the quiet village of Tsoukaladhes in North West Lefkas. A beautiful, peaceful location - each villa is set in its own olive grove with private pool and a feeling of seclusion without being cut off. The village is just 2 minutes away by car and has an excellent bakery and little store for basics. The towns of Lefkada and Ag. Nikitas are only 10 minutes away by car with a great choice of restaurants. The sunsets from the villa are spectacular and lazy days are easily spent around the pool. We were made to feel very welcome by Kostas and Dina, nothing was too much trouble and the welcome pack of bread, wine, milk, butter, local honey etc. and the delicious cakes were a treat. Our villa, Aledora, was well equipped, beautifully furnished and kept immaculately clean with a regular change of sheets and towels. If you can tear yourself away from the villa then Lefkas is worth exploring with beautiful beaches, a varied coastline and scenic mountain roads. We would highly recommend staying at one of the Art Blue Villas and hope to come back again soon.
