On the main floor of Hidden Gem Villa Kefalonia, you will find the large open living area with 3 comfortable sofas and a coffee table in front of the marble fireplace. For plenty of sunlight and a pleasant coolness, there are glass doors that provide access to a furnished terrace with beautiful views. Modern big screen TV, satellite, sound system, WiFi and a work desk are available. Adjacent to the living room guests will find a fully functional dining room with plenty of space and natural light, providing the perfect place for guests to enjoy breakfast, dinner – or a simple late-afternoon snack. Behind the dining room is the kitchen equipped with all the appliances that are necessary for enjoyable cooking. On the same floor, you will find also a double bedroom and a bathroom with a shower.
The master bedroom is located on the upper floor with a queen bed, a large en-suite bathroom, and a fantastic view. Two of the other comfortably furnished bedrooms have king-size beds; one of which converts to 2 single beds. The 4th bedroom has a double bed. On the same floor, there are also 2 bathrooms with showers. All bedrooms have magnificent views, either of the mountain or the gardens.
Spartia is a small village located in Livathos, in southern Kefalonia and displays a great maritime tradition. Beautiful houses, landscaped courtyards and streets look like maze compose the village. Spartia is believed to have existed for over 1000 years. In the past, the architecture of Spartia was precautionary for fear of pirates and the houses were small, with high walls and narrow windows. The labyrinthine alleys add to this purpose and are from the few relics of the past since everything else was destroyed by the 1953 earthquake. There are very few pre-earthquake buildings, as the 15th-century bell tower of St. George. The beach of the village is Klimatsias and is very close to Spartia. It is small and not organized but has crystalline waters and a stunning natural environment.
Kefalonia is the largest island of the Ionian group, located between Lefkada and Zante. Due to the size of the island Kefalonia never gets too crowded or too noisy, not even in high season and this makes it ideal for family holidays. Famous for the exotic aquamarine color beaches, including Myrtos, Antisamos, Lourdas and Skala, the island has gained popularity as the filming scenery of the Hollywood movie Captain Corelli's Mandolin.
The Ionian Islands are located on the western side of Greece and are historically and culturally strongly connected to Italy with many evident elements of this. The architecture of the capital towns, including Corfu Town, Zakynthos Town and Argostoli, resembles a lot to the Venetian style as these islands were occupied by the Venetians in the medieval times. We had a wonderful seven days at Hidden Gem Estate for a family and friends reunion. The house and apartments were comfortable and spacious with many areas to sit and admire the views of sea and mountains. We never tired of watching the changing light on the mountains.
Outdoors Hidden Gem’s pool was an excellent place to while away relaxation time and we enjoyed eating most of out meals in the pool house. The pool house has a very well equipped kitchen and a large tv screen for those watching sports.
We loved the short walk down the hill to Spartia Beach for our morning swims in the sea.
Hidden Gem is more or less in the centre of the island and very convenient both to the airport and for exploring the island. We especially enjoyed going into Argostoli to see the turtles swimming from the wharf and also took a full day boat trip from there.
I could not recommend Hidden Gem Estate more highly
Staying at the Hidden Gem Estate vacation house was the best experience ever. This house offers all the amenities you will ever hope for. The exterior area with the pool and gazebo is key!! This estate is affordable to rent and they don't charge you per person but per night! The hosts were amazing as well. I recommend this rental if you are travelling to Greece in Kefalonia.
