Afandou in Rhodes, Dodecanese Greece is one of the largest villages of Rhodes south of its capital, situated among green hills. Its name is said to have derived from the word "afandos" which means invisible in Greek, due to the fact that it is not visible from the sea, thus unnoticed by the pirates of the past. Afandou has a vibrant center with a lot of cafes and tasteful taverns, and also famous for fine-quality carpet making. The village offers various accommodation as well as a golf course. The pool area and landscaping were excellent. The local representative was helpful and cordial, and it was simple to locate. We had a great base in Afandou from which to explore the neighborhood. The village's fine restaurants are just a short stroll away. There are further locations within a 30-minute drive with good beaches nearby.
This villa is wonderful, spacious, and well-equipped, and it's in a terrific place. Our family of 5 adults had a wonderful time, and the villa provides enough space for everyone with multiple indoor and outdoor dining places. The area is ideal for exploring while staying away from the major, crowded streets because it is close to Lindos to the south and Rhodes Town to the north, as well as several gorgeous beaches in between. Although we did walk to the neighborhood beach, which was around a 30-minute walk away, we had a car. This is almost essential due to the location and expands your options during your visit.
Excellent stay; everything was just as we had hoped. The location is calm and without neighbors, ideal for relaxing. We are pleased with our stay!!!
Villa was wonderful. extremely large. It is incredibly calm and serene, exactly what we needed. You do have to walk down a track road for a short distance (5 minutes to get onto the main road), but as our group is fit, this was not a problem.
