The location of Himalaya Lodge is perfect. Perched on a sunny mountainside, the lodge has spectacular views over the Pleney slopes & Morzine center, which are only a 5-minute drive away. There is private parking outside and a large garage for ski and bike storage. On the ground floor, there are 3 lovely twin/ double bedrooms with en-suite facilities (each of the rooms en-suites have showers except rooms 1 & 6 which have a bath and overhead shower).
The spacious lounge is on the first floor with large comfortable sofas surrounding a roaring open fire. At the other end of the lounge is the bar and big screen TV, where you can curl up and enjoy a DVD in the evening. Floor-to-ceiling windows make the space really bright and airy and give fantastic views across Morzine. The large balcony is accessed from the lounge and because it is south facing, it provides the perfect sun trap during those sunny winter days.
Himalaya Lodge offers a separate private dining room where you can enjoy delicious and varied food from the Jack & Jill hosts whilst you chat over your day's adventure. Also on the first floor is a small snug with comfy seating and a TV; a great second play area for children or perhaps a hideaway for adults to escape to, to watch a big game! The 4 final rooms are located on the top floor, all of which are spacious, tastefully decorated, and with en-suite bathrooms. The all-important hot tub is located outside on the ground floor, the ultimate post-ski relaxer, it’s a superb place for an end-of-day drink under the stars.

The French Alps is a paradise for nature lovers, especially during the winter for the various globally famous ski resorts, but also during the summer with magnificent nature trails. This area boasts some of the most awe-inspiring natural scenery in Europe, with great mountain peaks, crystal lakes, glorious waterfalls, and dense forests. The most famous sight is Mont Blanc, the highest mountain peak in the Alps. Most tourists come here mostly to enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and mountain climbing in summer; skiing and snowboarding in winter. Ski resort villages such as Chamonix, Val d'Isère, and Portes du Soleil offer an excellent ski experience within a charming ambiance.
Montriond is a small village on the eastern side of the valley from Morzine in the French Alps. This quaint village hosts one of the longest ski slopes in the famous Portes du Soleil: l'Abricotine which runs for nearly 8km from the peaks in the border with Switzerland, all the way down to the Ardent cable car. Descending you can ski through the famous white village of Lindarets which is dotted with old chalet-restaurants that offer a fine gastronomic stop on the slopes. The village is primly located offering direct access to Avoriaz, Morzine, Chatel and Les Crosets in Switzerland.
Montriond village is not an exclusively winter destination; featuring a large lake for ice skating in the winter it transforms into a popular post in the summer for swimming, kayaking and sunbathing along with a handful of other water sport activities. The Fete de Montriond takes place every summer and has spectacular fireworks that attract many visitors. But fireworks are not the only reason for Montriond’s fame. If you are a food lover, this is one of the greatest destinations to satisfy your gastronomic desires.
All in all, Montriond is an ideal holiday destination of impeccable natural beauty with its lake, waterfalls and walking trails which offers plenty of wonderful places to visit.
