Situated majestically on a hill bathed in vegetation, Villa Pooja Kanda Sri Lanka is a tranquil, five-bedroom luxury villa just ten minutes’ inland from the charming beach Habaraduwa on Sri Lanka’s south coast, close to the historic city, Galle, situated on the southwestern tip, 119 km from Colombo.

Wide verandas, cool wraparound balconies, arched doorways, and lofty beamed ceilings characterize this serene Dutch-colonial-style villa that is perfect for groups and families looking to connect and unwind. Villa Pooja Kanda’s tranquility is further enhanced by a garden enlivened by birdsong, squirrels, and inquisitive monkeys. Fine quality furniture and fabrics, impressive decorative elements, and a palette of earthy colors offer a classy ambient to Villa Pooja Kanda’s interior spaces. The villa is fully staffed and comes with a swimming pool, uniquely designed interior spaces, and a fully equipped kitchen. The luxury rental also contains all modern entertainment amenities.

Villa Pooja Kanda sits on the top of a hill near Koggala and the south-coast market town of Habaraduwa, only ten minutes from the beach. Its superior location allows magnificent views to the tropical scenery surrounding it. Famous for accommodating the celebrated Sri Lankan author, Martin Wickramasinghe (to whom, an interesting museum has been dedicated and can be found in town), Koggala has a fine stretch of beach and is well-known for its enchanting lagoon. Here, the rich jungle spills onto a meandering expense of water traversed by fishermen leaving nothing but soft ripples in their wake.

A boat ride to spice gardens, bird-filled islands, and Buddhist temples is the best way to familiarize yourself with these sensational surroundings and be absorbed by the local life around the lake. Galle’s seventeenth-century Dutch fort – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – is only a 20-minute drive. The fort’s narrow cobbled streets are home to splendid colonial buildings, tiny cafes, churches, boutiques, and museums whilst its mighty grass-tufted ramparts are the places to be in order to enjoy superb seaside sunsets.

The villa’s unique elegance will let you travel to another era. Villa Pooja Kanda is an adorable luxury holiday home which will offer you an authentic experience along with the chance to explore nearby well-known sites and discover Sri Lanka’s countless natural beauties.

About the Location

Sri Lanka, South Coast, Habaraduwa - Koggala

Habaraduwa is a small town in Sri Lanka, located on the southern coast, approximately 14 km south of Galle within Southern Province. Habaraduwa is a friendly place, distinct for its beaches and gardens. There's a nice selection of restaurants to enjoy during your stay that will introduce you to the exquisite Sri Lankan cuisine with its spicy tastes. Habaraduwa is in proximity to Yatagala Raja Maha Viharaya and Unawatuna Beach where you can enjoy a wide range of activities, such as snorkeling to explore the rich sea bed and you can absorb the rich scenery with its dreamy palm-fringed stripes of sand and its deep blue waters. Sri Lankan beaches offer a unique scenery of serenity. In the surrounding area, there is Martin Wickramasinghe Folk Museum where you can find artifacts of the local culture and traditions and the Japanese Peace Pagoda. Koggala is bounded on one side by a beautiful reef, and on the other by Koggala Lake. It is a wide stretched village on Sri Lanka‘s South Coast with beautiful non-crowded beaches and some of the best surf spots on the island, while the Koggala River and Koggala Lake attract many nature lovers who wish to cross its waters. Some of the interesting places to visit in Koggala are Buddhist hermitages which are situated on a couple of islets on the Koggala Lake.

South Coast of Sri Lanka will be a highlight of your trip with the breathtaking beaches, wonderful scenery and amazing villas, South Coast or else South of Paradise is the ideal destination for those seeking carefree holidays next to the beach.

Sri Lanka's sandy beaches, splendid tropical climate, and delicious cuisine are only some of the many reasons you should visit this Asian country. The other name of the country is “pearl of the Indian ocean” and yes we can say that Sri Lanka is surely one of the most beautiful pearls. If you want to learn more about the history of the place, its local culture, practice some watersport, and view the wildlife, Sri Lanka is an ideal destination that you will never forget!

Beautiful Villa Pooja Kanda

We have just got back from the most fabulous stay in Pooja Kanda. We arrived on Christmas Eve and were immediately transported to another world. It was enchanting. A beautiful villa set amongst tall palms and built into the hillside. It was the ideal balance of authenticity and charm with all the amenities. The villa aside it was the staff who really stood out. They were incredible. What a team! They really made our stay very special and looked after us spectacularly well. Food in the villa was excellent. We would discuss menu options with the House Manager and Chef every morning and then leave it to the Chef to work his magic. I will miss my morning cup of tea on the verandah listening to the dawn chorus and seeing an amazing variety of wildlife, literally just on our door step. Monkeys, exotic birds, lizards and chipmunks. We will definitely be back. Thank you for making our stay so magical.
