About the Location

Spain, Mallorca, Puerto Pollensa

Puerto Pollensa is a truly beautiful coastal town of great luxury and charm situated in the bay of Pollensa approximately 6km east of the inland town of Pollensa. In its waters, it displays a wide collection of extravagant docked yachts. Set against the towering Tramuntana Mountains, it is an established, family-friendly tourist resort in the north of Mallorca. It was formerly a fishing village that still features a large marina, but instead of fishing boats, it hosts yachts.

Puerto Pollensa offers splendid sea views and a very scenic mountain backdrop and is well protected from strong winds. The town offers a wide range of restaurants and bars that cater to locals and tourists.

The beachfront is the main attraction but includes two different poles. South of the port you will find the commercial beach of Port de Pollença which is tourist-centered and provides all the touristic amenities. Further north of the port, the coastline gets more beautiful and traditional. The Pine Walk promenade includes a more tranquil and narrow beach, lined with traditional style Mallorcan chalets and dotted with pine trees leaning into the sea.

Puerto Pollensa blossoms mostly in the summer yet its close proximity to Mallorca’s Serra de Tramuntana mountains attracts hikers and cyclists during the rest of the year. The town has embraced a large community of ex-pats, mostly retired British.

For a more authentic Mallorcan experience, the inland town of Pollensa includes a plethora of cultural and historical sights, being a quaint town with stunning architecture and ancient landmarks; its traditional Sunday market is also an attraction per se.

Mallorca is the largest island in the Balearic Islands, which are part of Spain and located in the Mediterranean. The island boasts world-renowned beaches and coves but is also a perfect destination for golf lovers and lovers of culture, water sports, and entertainment. No wonder Mallorca is a favorite holiday destination for jet-setters from the politics, film and fashion scene.
