Playa del Carmen is a city located along the Caribbean Sea in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. Daytime in Playa is spent by the water for the most part. When evening rolls around, the crowds descend on 5th Avenue, the famous “La Quinta” as it’s known locally, a two-kilometer stretch of pedestrian-only strip lined with a plethora of bars, restaurants and shops. From the starting point of famed Quinta Avenida, you will find Playacar within 10-15 minutes. Playacar is Playa del Carmen’s less naughty sibling where you will come across small shops and plenty of beach entrances that will open up to non-crowded powdery sand beaches with amazing blue and turquoise hues of water.
