Playa del Carmen is a city located along the Caribbean Sea in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. It features a wide array of tourist activities due to its geographical location and is one of the top diving destinations in the world, thanks to its intense sea life and dazzling underwater caverns, but do not miss out the golfing experience! Playa del Carmen will amaze you for its beaches with crystalline peacock blue waters, its Mayan archaeology and emerald jungles along with the fantastic underwater world home to the second largest coral reef in the world. Here you can enjoy the fine white sand and a wide palette of water sports and activities.
If you want to see the incredible scenery that surrounds the area, start with the island of Cozumel, a few minutes away by ferry, where you'll find an amazing marine ecosystem. It would also be interesting to visit the Xcaret and Xel-Ha parks and wonder in their jungles, the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, the caverns of Río Secreto, and the town of Bacalar with its peaceful lake, the Laguna de Los Siete Colores. Daytime in Playa is spent by the water for the most part. When evening rolls around, the crowds descend on 5th Avenue, the famous “La Quinta” as it’s known locally, a two-kilometer stretch of pedestrian-only strip lined with a plethora of bars, restaurants and shops. From the starting point of famed Quinta Avenida, you will find Playacar within 10-15 minutes. Playacar is Playa del Carmen’s less naughty sibling where you will come across small shops and plenty of beach entrances that will open up to non-crowded powdery sand beaches with amazing blue and turquoise hues of water.
Riviera Maya in Mexico is one of the most stunning and safest destinations, Locals say that if you dig deep enough anywhere in Riviera Maya, you will hit the water. This just goes to show how many options there are for swimming and underground rivers the area has.
Quintana Roo is one of the 31 states of Mexico well known for its beautiful regions. Visit Cancun and swim at the beautiful reefs while you will be dazzled by the magical nightclubs at Zone Hotelera. Tulum is also a magical city with ancient Magia ruins while at Playa del Carmen you will feel that you will not want to leave. The island of Isla Mujeres, Isla Holbox, and Cozumel is ideal for island hopping! Puerto Morelos is also an ideal destination for diving at its reef. The location of the villa is in the best possible spot in Playa Del Carmen. The house is in a gated and guarded community on the beach with a beautiful pool and Jacuzzi. It takes about ten minutes (walking at a slow pace) to be in the middle of all the shopping (local items, pharmacies, high end stores (e.g., Rolex), U.S. stores, etc.) and restaurants (some of which looked pretty amazing) serve every cuisine imaginable. If you want to go to Cozumel, the boat launch also is located with the shopping. We always felt completely safe and welcomed by the locals and other tourists.
About the villa...freaking outrageous. 7 bedrooms (three masters with glass doors that completely open to a beach view and 10 full bathrooms. The bathrooms are huge and modern. It felt like you were showering outside because of the way they were designed it. Super modern common spaces - gigantic family/recreation room with the biggest and most comfortable sofa on the planet, kitchen, outside living space, etc. Once you enter the villa, you feel like you're in your own world.
I have nothing negative to say about any of the experience and we are considering going back to get married at the villa. It is a bit expensive, but it was some of the best money we ever spent.
Comfortable spaces no matter the weather! The private pool is wonderful, but what I found really special about the way that Villa Kin Ich is arranged is that there's a great space for every moment. We enjoyed the rooftop on a gorgeous full moon evening, and cuddled up in the game room on rainy day. Of course we took many short walks from the poolside to the beach, too!
The staff was kind and helpful, and genuinely interested in making our experience fun! To top it off, the food was so fantastic that we chose to eat nearly every meal at the Villa.
Villa Kin Ich is that rare combination of luxury resort and comfortable home. Highly recommended!!!
As the days winded down it was hard to think about leaving. We didn't want for anything. Loved, Loved, Loved this house. It was so relaxing and beautiful it made you not want to leave the property and you dont have to. This was an awesome experience. We had an unforgettable vacation and look forward to going back again! Would recommend to anyone looking for an amazing home to rent in Mexico. This vacation was one of the best I have had yet. Awesome job to the staff and owners.
Here is what you need to know:
- The house is HUGE. It feels like you are in a private boutique hotel. Every detail has been considered and the rooms are spacious and welcoming (beds are super comfy, too!)
- But you won't spend much time in bed because the view is UNREAL! You are right in front of a beautiful ocean with sand just steps away from the pool. The lounge areas of the home are to die for - comfy couches where you can kick back in the open air living room and watch the waves roll in.
- Can we talk about the food and the service? The home is 5 star all the way. The staff is incredibly accommodating, doting on your every need - but also miraculously giving you enough space to live your best vacation life! They provide a private chef and butler and TRUST ME you are living the life of BEYONCE in this home.
- The food was incredible. Night after night. Breakfast, lunch, and beyond. We could customize our meals and were always inspired by the food. DEEE-Licious.
When you are looking to escape, celebrate, and get away from it all -- this is the home to do it in. We felt safe and loved the short walk to Avenida Quinta (the shopping district). Seriously the location and neighborhood can't be beat.
I also recommend using the concierge who was incredible to help you plan any excursions or adventures -- we went exploring and cave swimming and seriously had the most glorious memories made on our day trips.
From start to finish Jeremie and the team at Maya Luxe were professional, impeccable with their service, and pulled out all the stops to make sure our celebrations were a true success.
We will be back again and again. I encourage you to do the same!
