REVIEW SCORE

Amongst the green hills of Montecatini Terme, a city famous for centuries for its thermal waters and consequential famous visitors, Villa Maona is an antique 18th-century villa that has been μcompletely restored internally. It has been furnished with all modern comforts to permit the guests to enjoy their relaxation in what is, however, a completely authentic atmosphere.

The Villa has its own private park with a swimming pool 9×4 deep1.5, olive groves and cypress trees, and a magnificent view of the original antique village of MontecatininAlto and of Montecatini Terme itself. The Villa owes its name to the Grotto Maona frequented by visitors and guided tours. From the Villa, it is possible to make numerous trips to places of interest, from the beaches of Versilia to the antique monumental cities of Florence, Pisa, Siena, and Luca, as well as the numerous vineyards of the area for wine tastings.

From the outside the villa presents itself as an antique Tuscan farmhouse, facing South and consequently always sunny. The location of Villa Maona is strategic: supermarket, elegant boutiques, typical restaurants, and important wine cellars are just minutes away, as well as swimming pools, thermal facilities, golf courses, tennis courts, riding stables, lakes for sport fishing, cycling, or jogging, and trekking.

The inside has been restored with good taste and the luminous and spacious areas comfortable and relaxing. A large dining room (which seats 10) and a kitchen with a fireplace have access to the park. The lounge area, with its large windows, looks out over the valley. The Villa offers a private pool (open from April to October incl.) It has Wi-Fi inside and out, satellite TV, billiard table, ping pong, alarm system, washing machine, and dryer.

The province of Pistoia is located in northern Tuscany and is a quite large area whose morphology includes both flat valleys as well as hilly and mountainous sections, including the Valley of the Ombrone River, the Valdinievole and the Pistoia Mountains where ski lovers exercise their favorite sport. Pistoia is inherent to the production of chocolate, located in the so-called "Tuscan chocolate valley", an area extending between Pisa, Pistoia, and Prato in which some of the most renowned Italian artisan chocolate makers are established, their fame spreading to the whole Italy and beyond.

The area of Pistoia and Pescia is also very well known for the cultivation of plants and flowers exported all over the world, which is still a very alive engagement of the inhabitants. The small town of Quarrata, approximately 30 kilometers from Florence, is renowned for the production of premium quality wood furniture.

The area of Pistoia attracts a lot of tourists due to its famous thermal baths which are another important resource for the province. The thermal baths of Montecatini and Monsummano include waters with beneficial health effects, ideal for a healing experience along with spa therapies. Pistoia Mountains are ideal for sports and hiking lovers, both in the summer and in the winter, when the ski slopes and lifts are open. The ski resorts of Abetone and Val di Luce are among the most popular.

Children will love the Zoo of Pistoia, located about 10 km outside of the city, and the Pinocchio Park in Collodi, with its adjacent to stunning Garzoni Garden.

Since Tuscany is famous for its gardens, here you will find one more much-visited gem, The Fattoria di Celle, a beautiful outdoor sculpture garden with contemporary works of art.
