REVIEW SCORE

The roads between the hills and valleys lead you to the noble city of Montepulciano, amongst the most intriguing in Tuscany. When you take the entrance to “Dionora” you will be fascinated by the sense of space and light, the perfume of the uncontaminated woods. Fairytale atmosphere in which Dionora, with its antique houses looking out over the towns of Pienza and Montefollonico, seems to not want to disturb the natural beauty of the area. The villa, which dates back to the beginning of the 18hundreds, has been completely reconstructed maintaining with care the original details.

The villa is spread over 1000sq. mt. and is surrounded by a beautiful garden of half a hectare containing an English lawn, a swimming pool 22x12x1.72, a vineyard, and a magnificent view. Relais Dionora, in fact, is in one of the most prestigious wine-producing zones famous for the Montepulciano red wine to be found in all the world wine guide books. It was also a renowned agricultural establishment and, for love of tradition, has recuperated that activity by offering DOC wines of superior quality as well as extra-virgin olive oil delicious with all your favorite dishes

In the Summer season, you will appreciate the outdoor areas of the Relais, where a dip into the pool is equivalent to a dive into the enchanting hillside surroundings. In the woods, it is not uncommon to see hares and baby goats that inhabit these uncontaminated areas. The villa is also a dream- place for a wedding or exclusive party.

There is a large lounge area, with a fireplace, and three bedrooms, whilst in the annex next to it has another three bedrooms with a delightful view over Pienza and the “limonaia”. Each bedroom is furnished in the classic style, with warm colors, elegant furniture, and essentials like airconditioning, TV, LCD, safe, separate bathroom with a hydromassage bath. In the Winter there is a fireplace where you can relax in peace and quiet with a glass of DOC red wine.

Italy, Tuscany, Siena Area

The Siena area is the scenic countryside that surrounds the city of Siena, with a charm of the past evident in the clay valleys, the endless rows of vineyards, and stunning rolling hills dotted with century-old olive trees.

Siena is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. World-famous Piazza del Campo, Torre del Mangia, and the Cathedral are gems that leave visitors breathless. It’s a city with a strong identity and character, where traditions do not belong to dusty history books but are still alive, just like the Palio horse race.

Siena enchants its visitors with its landscape beauty as well as architecture, impeccable beauty shrines, churches, and quaint villages, as well as streams flowing through woodland and countless trails surrounded by greenery and nature reserves, such as the ones located along the river Merse, make this place irresistible no matter what you are looking for. Enjoy a relaxing spa experience at the famous Terme di Petriolo, in Monticiano, or at Rapolano, visit the Cistercian San Galgano Abbey, in Chiusdino. There’s also Asciano, where the Monte Oliveto Maggiore Monastery is an interesting spiritual destination. Medieval towns like Buonconvento and Monteroni d’Arbia stand near the rugged ravines, as well as Etruscan villages such as Murlo and Sovicille.

The city of Siena also starred in the James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace. Legend has it that Siena was founded by Senius, son of Remus, one of the two founders of Rome thus Siena's emblem is the she-wolf who suckled Remus and Romulus.
