Case Dell'Etna Sicily is a luxury villa complex with 6 bedrooms and 2 private pools. Case Dell'Etna Sicily consists of 2 villas, Villa Cocuzzolo and Villa Gialla. One can not understand the meaning of "Sicily" until you live it. One of the richest regions in history and traditions, which because of its past can encompass so many varieties of cultures that it seems almost unreal. The Etna Houses are a piece of Sicily. Between sea and mountain, between dream and reality, offering as much as you could wish for a relaxing holiday. A few kilometers from Etna and its skiing facilities and a few kilometers from the beautiful shores of Taormina in the center of one of the most beautiful green areas of Sicily.

Villa Cocuzzolo is an excellent choice for families looking for an affordable villa with a pool that is within easy reach of the coast and some of Sicily’s most exciting attractions. The villa is situated on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna, between Acireale and Taormina, at about one hour drive from Catania. The nearby slopes of Mount Etna offer a range of wine-tasting excursions, hiking, and adventure activities and the coastal towns of Taormina and Acireale are within easy reach.

Surrounded by leafy landscaped gardens and set against a backdrop of trees and lush vegetation, the yellow-walled cottage provides a peaceful family retreat. A spacious patio, cooled by sea breezes, is the perfect spot for al fresco dining. There is also a pool, for the exclusive use of the villa guests.

The interior of the villa is simply furnished and has everything you need for a family holiday. On the ground floor, there is a small living room and a kitchen with double doors that lead out to the outdoor dining terrace. Two of the three double bedrooms, both with direct access to the garden, and two bathrooms (each with a shower) are all on this floor. A spiral staircase leads up to the third bedroom and bathroom.

Lovely panoramic villa with independent access, obtained from the renovation and extension of an old farmhouse. Located on a promontory overlooking a valley that extends to the sea, on a beautiful estate on the slopes of Mount Etna, Villa Gialla is a comfortable family villa with a private pool and a big garden, conveniently located just a short drive from the shops in Sant’Alfio. The nearby slopes of Mount Etna offer a range of wine-tasting excursions, hiking, and adventure activities and the coastal towns of Taormina and Acireale are within easy reach.

Outside, the private figure-of-eight-shaped pool is encircled by spacious terraces equipped with sunbeds and chairs to lie back on and admire the views over the surrounding countryside and the coast. A covered dining area adjacent to the villa and overlooking the pool provides shade for al fresco meals. There are also lawns and a large patio for the children to play on (in addition to a children’s play area with a swing and a boules area).

Ideal for a large family, the interior of the villa is traditionally decorated and furnished, with beamed ceilings, ancient fireplaces, and polished terracotta floors. The living and dining rooms are separate, with the dining room leading directly through an archway into a well-equipped open-plan kitchen, with tables and chairs. There are three double bedrooms, plus a sofa bed, and two bathrooms (each with a shower).

About the Location

Italy, Sicily, Sant'Alfio

Sant'Alfio is a small village located in the City of Catania in Sicily, about 160 kilometers east of Palermo on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna. It is situated at an altitude of 550 meters and it is a very quiet and cool countryside surrounded by hazelnut and chestnut groves, woods and vast vines that produce Etna DOC wine. The benchmark of the village is the oldest and largest chestnut tree in Europe, called the Castagno dei Cento Cavalli -or Chestnut of the 100 Horses. Sant'Alfio was founded in the 1600s as one of the "torre" (towers) of the County of Mascali, a vast feudal territory and retains its original street plan of cobbled alleys low houses, interspersed with little piazzas and adorned with grand palazzi. An interesting sight is found in the Piazza del Duomo, where a cathedral built of lava rock in a country Romanesque style stands proudly.

The wider region around Sant’Alfio is of great interest and includes some beautiful cities, such as the coastal towns of Giarre, around 7km away, which hosts the remains of an 11th-century church. Taormina to the north will charm you with its lovely beaches, its quaint town center, and a magnificent Greek-Roman amphitheater. If you are a Carnival lover, Acireale involves but is also home to several Baroque-style buildings and Roman thermal baths. Catania is Sicily’s second largest city, with an attractive historic center and fabulous fish market! The slopes of Mount Etna are dotted with hillside towns such as Zafferana Etnea and Milo, constructed largely out of black lava stone. In addition to visiting Mount Etna, a range of excursions, wine-tastings and adventure activities are also available.

Sicily is the largest of the Italian islands, separated from the Continent by the Strait of Messina and washed by the Ionian, the Tyrrhenian, and the Mediterranean Seas. It is a true gem of Southern Italy and is a place with abundant nature and rich history and traditions along with outstanding architecture. Nature here seems to have embraced all its versions: mountains, hills, and above all the most magnificent azure sea, with its crystal-clear water and the impeccable beauty of its colorful seabed. Sicily also involves three volcanos, with the most famous being Etna which adds one more color to the unique palette of this mythical island.

The birthplace of the Roman Empire and Renaissance, Italy, showcases many of the world’s greatest artworks, architectural buildings and over the top gastronomical proposals. This is the country where the word “style” expresses the whole nation. Italy has more Unesco World Heritage cultural sites than any other country; among them are Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera, Michelangelo’s David and Sistine Chapel and da Vinci’s The Last Supper.
