Fiumefreddo di Sicilia develops almost entirely on the plain, in the center of an important citrus area, which in the past was part of the County of Mascali, especially in the part that extends towards the sea and the beach of Marina di Cottone, a place of intense summer tourism. The western part, on the other hand, is surrounded by cultivated hills and sloping down from the slopes of Etna towards the sea. Thanks to its favorable geographical position and the climate with beneficial effects due to the sea breeze, Fiumefreddo is a lovely town to visit, surrounded by greenery both in the coastal strip, rich in eucalyptus groves and other vegetation, and in the upstream area.
Despite being a less famous town than the famous tourist destinations of Taormina and Catania, Fiumefreddo offers some interesting places to visit, to discover the beauty and charm of the Sicilian provincial town. You can visit the elegant Palazzo Corvaja, dating back to the 18th century, the Roman remains of the Red Tower, the war memorial, the beautiful white sand beach of Marina di Cottone, the Maria SS del Rosario Church, the Mother Maria SS Church Immaculate, the Church of San Vincenzo Ferreri and other monuments.
