An intricately carved wooden door leads into the lush tropical garden of villa Candi Kecil Empat. An oasis of space and peacefulness where koi fish ponds, fountains, and an inviting glistening swimming pool with a shallow wading area for the kids await. On the stone sun deck, comfy reclining chairs have been placed for relaxing in the shade of a large white umbrella or sunbathing, working on that gorgeous tropical island tan to take home with you. Kids can safely play on the manicured lawn of the garden while parents enjoy a traditional Balinese massage in the thatched gazebo. At one end of the pool, near to the statue fountain, which sounds set a wonderfully peaceful ambiance, stands an alfresco dining table where guests can enjoy their breakfast, afternoon cocktails, or candlelight dinners beneath the stars.

The living pavilion features a traditional high soaring roof, giving a great sense of openness and space while allowing natural light to shine in through the floor to ceiling glass doors that can slide open to the garden to create a tropical open-plan living room. The living room features an elegant natural interior design, ruled by teak wood, rattan, bamboo, and a tasteful collection of primitive artwork and sculptures. The long teak dining table, crafted from recycled wood that was taken from the traditional Balinese fishermen boats, makes a great spot for families to enjoy quality time together, dining and perhaps playing some cards in the evening. The TV lounge features comfy rattan sofas, bamboo carpets, and colorful floor pillows, great for a cozy in-villa evening watching movies.

Following the open staircase from the living room, leads up to the second floor, where guests will be delighted to find a large, open-plan living space that is perfect for yoga, meditation, and family gatherings. The view over the tropical scenery surrounding the property is amazing and the space is furnished with a beautiful hand-woven carpet and lots of bean bags which are easily put aside for a yoga practice.

About the Location

Indonesia, Bali, Ubud

Ubud is considered to be Bali's cultural heart and here you will find the most important art museums of Bali. It's just an hour's drive north of the airport and among the mountains. Ubud is also home to one of Bali's royal families and it features a majestic palace in the center of town. Ubud is also renowned as a crafts center. There are numerous shops selling antiques, woodcarvings, crafts, textiles, paintings and jewellery in Ubud. Ubud's main street is dotted with dozens of art studios, an excellent local craft market and plenty of galleries.

Around Ubud, popular are the villages of Campuhan, Penestanan, Peliatan and Batuan, which specialize in crafts and woodcarving, sold all over the island. Ubud Monkey Forest is the most popular stop for tourists in the town of Ubud. Macaque monkeys roam freely to this green paradise which also includes an imposing temple complex. Ubud rice fields still cover a large part of Ubud, despite its development that can be easily reached on foot or by bicycle and are definitely a cultural experience. The Elephant Cave (Goa Gajah) is located just 10 minutes south of Ubud and is one of the most sacred places of Bali. Along with this, there is a great variety of Hindu temples that you can visit for free or with a small donation.

Ubud is a great place for shopping and almost a sophisticated experience in respect to the more mass production touristy shops of Kuta. You can also get holistically healed in one of the exclusive spas of Ubud; an experience that can be shared with the whole family and friends. Your visit to Ubud would be incomplete without watching a traditional dance performance. Although a touristic sight, it will give you an insight to the Hindu legends
