REVIEW SCORE

Villa Du Bah is a vacation compound made up of four pavilions showcasing traditional Balinese architecture as exhibited by the classic Joglo style roofs. Interiors mix masterfully crafted weathered wood appointments with comfortable contemporary furnishings. While amenities are the most modern – promoting total ease and indulgence for every guest. The predominant wood motif and warm color scheme throughout the villa are enhanced by touches of tribal pieces and avant-garde artworks. Design elements that seem to complement the surrounding rice terraces of Kerobokan – all giving Villa Du Bah a truly rustic, laid-back, and exotic feel.

Laid out at the middle of the compound’s pavilions is the 10-meter swimming pool. Wade into its refreshing, crystal-clear waters for a soothing dip or for some splashy play. For some sun, stretch out on the cushioned, wide wooden day bed under the trees. Or, you can opt to recline on the cushioned, wooden pool beds under the shade of the main pavilion’s covered terrace.

Indoors, at one side of the breezy, semi-open, compact, and high-ceilinged main pavilion, is the living area. Around its hefty couch and cushioned, wooden chairs you can all hang out to catch your must-not-miss TV show. Or, to watch, once again, your all-time favorite film. Under a tall wooden arch at the center of this pavilion is the dining area with its wide wooden table that can comfortably seat eight. Here, you can get a taste of authentic local cuisine at the fully-equipped, modern kitchen section on the other side of this main pavilion.

The villa has three bedrooms -- each in an exclusive pavilion out on the garden’s well-kept lawn. All these bedrooms have queen-sized beds and dedicated bathrooms with rain showers. All these bedrooms also have direct access to the swimming pool.

On duty to deliver the villa’s daily services is a staff led by a manager supported by a housekeeper, a gardener, and a security team. Aside from the chef, a babysitter, a driver, a laundry helper, and a spa therapist may be called in upon your request. However, their services come with a separate charge. A scooter and a car are also available for rent.

Villa Du Bah is situated in Kerobokan. A 10-minute commute by car will take you to Seminyak – Bali’s bustling beach town. Seek out the Oberoi District’s Eat Street – a foodie strip with casual to fine dining restaurants. While there, don’t miss out on the culinary offerings of La Lucciola, Mamasan, Metis, and Sarong. Wander through malls, fashion boutiques, novelty shops, and souvenir stores. You will get to Seminyak Beach eventually. Settle at any of the cozy beach cafes and chill until the sunset’s magic hour. When the night comes to life, delight your senses at pulsating bars and clubs such as La Plancha, Potato Head, and Ku De Ta.

About the Location

Indonesia, Bali, Kerobokan

Kerobokan is a calm neighborhood close to Seminyak that provides easy access to this popular neighborhood without the frantic buzz. Kerobokan is a unique combination of modern restaurants, a whirlwind of motorbikes, and peaceful rice fields. Kerobokan is a landlocked neighborhood conveniently located just inland of the famous Seminyak. The neighborhood blends seamlessly with elegant Petitenget, which is home to fine restaurants and renowned beach clubs. Driving along the coast from Petitenget, you'll pass through the laid-back Batubelig neighborhood, the chic surfer area of Canggu, and rice paddy-dotted Pererenan. Umalas, one of Kerobokan's closest neighbors, boasts the same rice paddy vistas and houses hidden gem villas and eateries popular with those in the know.

One of the nicest things about Kerobokan is its proximity to some of Bali's most famous tourist destinations. Kerobokan is an ideal home base for visiting nearby Seminyak and Canggu without having to stay in more congested locations. A cab trip from Kerobokan to Seminyak's famed Eat Street will take between 5 and 15 minutes, depending on where you are staying in the region. Staying in Kerobokan will give you a more real Balinese experience, since Seminyak (although fantastic) might get a touch too commercial at times. You're also only a short drive from the beach — Batubelig Beach and Ku De Ta Beach Club are both around a 10-minute drive apart, depending on where you stay in Kerobokan. If you want to venture farther afield, Kerobokan also provides easy access to Sunset Route, the major road linking you to other areas of the island where stunning Hindu temples and exciting activities ranging from mountain biking to culinary lessons await.

Bali is the most popular holiday destination in the Indonesian archipelago. Exotic temples and palaces embraced by lash nature, are some of its top attractions. After sunset, famous nightspots invite its many visitors to unforgettable nights. You will be amazed by the verdant nature and jungles. Bali also boasts world-class beaches and luxury resorts in hot spots such as Kuta, Seminyak, and Jimbaran where most of the accommodation is right on the beach. They also host some of Bali’s greatest surf spots. The eastern beach resorts are more tranquil and present the most beautiful sunsets. These include Sanur, Nusa Dua and the coast of Candidasa. In east Bali and northern region, you’ll find some world-class diving spots with calm bays. They're home to pristine corals and colorful marine life.

Indonesia is composed of many islands that display cultural and landscape diversity, located off the coast of mainland Southeast Asia in the Indian and Pacific oceans. With nearly 13,500 islands under its jurisdiction, Indonesia offers an adventure for everyone, from exploring ancient temples and hiking active volcanoes to diving in exotic, pristine waters. This country’s history and natural beauty will leave no visitor uncharmed. Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world after China, India and the USA, having the largest Muslim population in the world. It includes over 100 active volcanoes.
