Makriotika is one of the largest villages of Kefalonia, built on the slope of Agia Dynati. Like most villages of Pylaros, it is surrounded by lush green and prides itself on its picturesque little houses displaying beautiful architecture and stunning views. Makriotika includes a small number of traditional taverns, a primary school, a bakery, a mini-market, and other local businesses. In Potamianata of Makriotika, you can admire the restored church of Kourvisiana, the Virgin Mary. Here you will also find the Museum Olive of Pylaros that operates since 2010 with a traditional restored olive press. Makriotika villagers are mostly farmers.
Kefalonia is the largest island of the Ionian group, located between Lefkada and Zante. Due to the size of the island Kefalonia never gets too crowded or too noisy, not even in high season and this makes it ideal for family holidays.
