Villa Thalia with two bedrooms is the first of the villas, situated within its own private established garden with terrace, swimming pool, sun loungers, and an outdoor dining area to enjoy that evening BBQ’d meals. Built over two stories the ground floor offers an open plan lounge, dining, and kitchen area all fully furnished and equipped to the highest level.
A twin-bedded bedroom with a bathroom is also situated on the ground floor whilst the double master bedroom and en-suite are on the first floor with a balcony overlooking the pool and terrace. All the necessary facilities can be found in the villa to ensure a comfortable stay these include: air conditioning/ heating system, safety deposit box, satellite TV, DVD, Wi-Fi. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven and hob, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, and washing machine. Mosquito screens on all windows and doors. Private secure parking is available for up to two cars.
Total peace and quiet can be enjoyed at Villa Thalia, relaxing by the pool whilst enjoying the lush green surrounding mountainous landscape.
Karavomilos is a picturesque fishing village 1km west of the harbor of Sami. It is a pole of attraction for visitors, as very close to it, are some of the most famous natural sights in Kefalonia; the cave of Drogarates and the lake of Melissani. The impressive cave of Drogarati with rare stalagmites and stalactites is a must-see. With an acoustic similar to this of ancient theaters, it can easily host a concert. Visitors can combine Drogati with a visit to the underground lake of Melissani, a really magnificent sight you can explore by boat. Another characteristic image of the area is the traditional water mill on the edge of the beach Karavomilos. Just outside of Karavomilos, Old Vlachata village hosts one of the most important contemporary music festivals, the “saristra festival”, held in the homonymous square of the village.
Sami is a beautiful coastal town located 24km east of Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia. Sami is the second largest port of the island after Argostoli and it serves daily trips to Patra, Ithaca and Italy. It boasts a delightful waterfront with all modern amenities such as shops and lovely cafes and displays wide paved streets for long strolls and exquisite Venetian architecture adding a special charm and reflecting the rich heritage of the island. Sami is embraced by a breathtaking landscape of verdurous imposing hills and stunning coves. It hosts some of the most interesting monasteries and sights in Kefalonia such as the monastery of Agrilia, as well as famous caves of Dragati and Karavomylos and some stunning underground lakes like the one at Melissani and Antisamos beach. During summer, Sami is very active culturally with a lot of festivals and performances.
Kefalonia is the largest island of the Ionian group, located between Lefkada and Zante. Due to the size of the island Kefalonia never gets too crowded or too noisy, not even in high season and this makes it ideal for family holidays. Famous for the exotic aquamarine color beaches, including Myrtos, Antisamos, Lourdas and Skala, the island has gained popularity as the filming scenery of the Hollywood movie Captain Corelli's Mandolin.
The Ionian Islands are located on the western side of Greece and are historically and culturally strongly connected to Italy with many evident elements of this. The architecture of the capital towns, including Corfu Town, Zakynthos Town and Argostoli, resembles a lot to the Venetian style as these islands were occupied by the Venetians in the medieval times. We booked a villa during Covid-19 as we thought that being somewhere on our own would be the best way to have the time to "come up for air" as we both worked all the way through lockdown here in UK and will do so now until Christmas.
We made the best choice ever.
Eli is amazing, so warm, friendly and that smile just lights up the room, she really is a lovely soul who will do anything to help you, suggest restaurants and just make things simple for your relaxing time away.
The sheets and towels were constantly being changed, I have never stayed anywhere where you get so many fresh towels.
There is a welcome pack on our arrival as we didn't land until late in the evening. This was cheese, ham, bread, fruit, bottled water, biscuits, fresh eggs, jam, lots of other things and a lovely bottle of wine too.
The location suited us fine, we would walk from the villa into Sami to the end of the port for a beer, this justified the "pit stop".
The very first morning that we walked down the driveway and turned left we were both gobsmacked............the view is just stunning and we didn't expect it as we arrived in the dark.
I won't spoil things anymore for you but I have to say that we had the most amazing holiday ever.

I stayed at Villa Thalia in August with my husband and 2 friends and couldn't have asked for a more attentive host, Elli. A very welcome welcome pack was supplied! As we arrived late this started our holiday off in a relaxing manner. The wine was particularly appreciated for our first night! The location is ideal - 50 metres from a quiet, pebble beach with beautiful views, great to take a dip. Kefalonia has some gorgeous places (with some hair-raising roads though). The Villa and pool are delightful- a very relaxing holiday.

Everything that is advertised about this villa is the absolute truth - it really is only 50m for a lovely beach. Its about a 15 minute walk back into Sami along the beach - so easy for evening meals. Cleaned regularly during our stay. Lovely welcome pack when we got there that meant we didn't have to venture out till the next day for provisions - much welcomed after a stupidly early morning flight.
Kefalonia is a beautiful island - one of our favourites now. The villa is perfectly located to visit Sami, the cave lake (walkable) and was about 30 minutes drive to the west coast. We drove to the North via Assos for a day out and it was a perfect adventure - back via the smaller roads. Also went to Xi beach which was over an hour but 100% worth the drive,
100% recommend the villa and hope to be going back at some point.
Villa Thalia was incredibly well stocked. It has everything a kitchen could need including two toasties which I am ashamed to say we didn't use. The villas are clean and spacious. The air con is fantastic - it was very hot and we needed it. There are mosquito covers on all doors and windows although I have to say that there were very few mosquitos - quite a few (non stingy) wasps.
The villa was clean and was kept clean every few days. The pool man also came every few days and the filter on the pool was very efficient when he wasn't around.
Eli who owns the villas was so helpful - she also stocked up the kitchen for us before we arrived and that was such a bonus to have cold beer before we unpacked.
overall a wonderful place and a wonderful holiday. I recommend Sami and Sami Beach villas very highly
The only thing that would be a no is if you like a sandy beach - as i said - Sami is pebbly which i prefer.

the villa owners were lovely and so kind and helpful. A nice touch was a supply of drinks and provisions to start our holiday with and save us having to shop on arrival. not many companies do this and we felt a lot of care and consideration had gone into this.
we would definitely book again, hopefully next year.
