And even though it is very hard to resist the wonderfully clear, deep water of this beach, it is certain that children and adults alike will also appreciate a lot the safe and private fun by the swimming pool.
Avlaki Beach is located about 37 km to the north of Corfu Town, between the villages of Agios Stefanos and Kassiopi. Avlaki is a beautiful, pebbly beach with crystalline waters, yet it is not very popular with tourists. This quiet beach is an ideal destination for families. The beach has the basic amenities with sunbeds and a few taverns with local delicacies. In the afternoon, a northern sea breeze enters the beach, to refresh it from the heat. The beach is ideal for water sports, such as sailing and canoeing with boats available for hire. Avlaki is a tranquil destination, however, if you are looking for a more buzz place for more entertainment Kassiopi is just a couple of km away.

Cavo Barbaro is a wonderful taverna almost next door. Lovely to be able to walk 1 min to find good food, drinks & sea views. They do half portions for kids, plus takeaway coffee and food - good to know if you arrive late.
Niko supermarket 5 mins drive away, stocks everything you can need (including UK staples like Heinz ketchup etc!) including meats and fish for bbq.
There were a lot of mosquitos during our stay (May) - bring spray.
Washing machine v helpful, especially with kids.
We hired a little boat from https://www.filippos-boats.com and wizzed around to other bays. They come with life jackets (esp for kids). Especially worth a trip is Taverna Agni - you need to book & staff will come out to help you tie your boat up.
The pool is lovely. Unfortunately not heated, so was a little chilly for our kids in May.
So nice to sit outside in evenings, have a bbq and hear the waves.
The house itself is clean, very large and functional. It's a little dated and some of us found the mattresses a bit hard. Would also recommend the owners get a bigger kitchen bin, it was v small for a lot of people.
All in all a lovely house in special location and we are very keen to come back! We did see some of the rest of Corfu, and decided Avlaki and North Corfu was the most beautiful, wild part :)
However the villa did feel damp, especially the beds. We did mention to cleaners and was advised to keep all windows open as much as possible. The air conditioning was not working in 2 of bedrooms. Saying that it did not spoil our holiday in a fantastic location
The nearest shop is 1.8km away so be prepared for a hike or do your shopping when you hire a boat like we did. Boat hire available in Kassiopi. Perfect way to explore the island.
The house is larger than it seems in the photos with plenty of room for everyone. The interior is not the most modern but it is very comfortable and well equipped.
The maid service and local contacts were all very friendly and helpful as was Iraklis the property owner/manager. We had a great time here and would recommend :-)
Avlaki Beach House didn't disappoint and is bigger than it appears in the pictures, clean and fresh, with everything we needed for a wonderful, peaceful holiday.We are a family of 5 adults and the villa was much bigger than we needed. It could easily accommodate, a couple of families or 8-10 people
Upon arrival, we were delighted to find a nice variety of food, water, and wine for the first day, 100 yards down the beach road are a couple of really good restaurants, although you will need to hire a car as the supermarket is 10-15 mins away in Kassiopi.
The dealings with Iraklis leading up to the holiday were very good, we meet his mother and father who own the Villa whilst we were there, and the British host Carol, called several times to make sure we were OK.
Just as a tip, I use www.corfuprivatechauffeurservice.com for the airport transfer, they are a top quality executive car firm who charge 110 Euros each way.
In summary, this is one of the nicest villas we've stayed in, we were made to feel very welcome and our only regret is that we didn't book two weeks rather than one.
