Agios Onoufrios is a small seaside village which belongs to the Municipal Unit of Akrotiri, located 8 km northeast of Chania city. We enjoyed a wonderful week at the beautiful villa. As a family group of 10, including small children, we found the villa to be more than large enough, extremely well equipped, relatively child friendly (they had installed extra fences for us to block up some steep steps) and the pool was amazing (there are also some pool & beach toys available!). Requesting it to be heated was a great decision as it was delightfully warm day and night so the kids could be in it for hours. The outside area and gardens are stunning: morning orange picking was a favourite job for the kids.
Margarite was there to greet us and explain all the tech in the house and she was in regular contact offering help and advice. We really can’t recommend the place highly enough.
There is plenty to do and see in the area as there are some lovely beaches, interesting historical sites and Chania old town is beautiful. The mountain villages are within an hours drive but beware the Mountain roads! I would highly recommend making the trip to Elafonissi and Falasarna beaches.

We were on family vacation. Nice house. Peaceful Large enough for 3 couples. With spaces sheltered from the sun. Well located for visiting Chania, small authentic villages and small beach ideal for a family stay with children.
It is a beautiful villa, well laid-out including the barbecue and pool areas, gardens and groves, and well supplied in kitchen, barbecue area, washrooms, towels, terraces … particularly for a large, mixed-generational family like ours. We were very well looked-after by the daily housekeeper and Margarita was on the end of a phone responding immediately to any queries we had (very few, none serious). The area surrounding is really beautiful too. 10/15 or so minutes drive took us to wonderful beaches whose tavernas are warmly welcoming. Chania is very close, with various levels of walks (including Samaria Gorge), close-by, and so much more for those interested. I could go on.
Just returned from a week at this villa and could not recommend this more highly enough. We were 4 couples and 7 children and there was so much space we never felt on top of each other. Amazing outdoor eating and pool area and Margarita and family had thought of everything and were so helpful. Great beaches 5-10 mins drive away.

We stayed at this villa at June. It was a large family party to celebrate a Golden Wedding. I cannot speak too highly of the villa. The owner was always helpful from the moment we booked to our last day. We were greeted at the villa on our arrival and shown around. Everything was spotlessly clean and the garden and grounds in immaculate condition. The villa is very spacious. All rooms were very well equipped and there was a very generous welcome package of fruit, wine and assorted Cretan delicacies. The villa is in fact in two halves, one upstairs and one downstairs but connected internally by a staircase. Each “half” has its own kitchen, lounge, bedrooms and bathrooms. This arrangement worked well with the two families plus grandparents. The four grandchildren played endlessly in the pool, which is of a very good size, and well supplied with loungers. The highlight was meal cooked by a Cretan chef. This was arranged by the owner at an additional price but is was well worth it to have a superb meal cooked and served on the terrace as the sun set. This is 5 star accommodation and service.
We stayed here as a family of 11 with 3 generations. This place was perfect for us. It was large enough that everyone had their own space. (Although sorting food etc into 2 kitchens is a little awkward so we generally just used 1). The rooms are all spacious. The pool is lovely, as is all of the outside space. Easy to find. A couple of tavernas within walking distance (if you don’t have very little people-too far for our 2/3 year olds and too hilly and hot to push the buggy). General facilities in the villa were really good. Nice outdoor dining space. Big gas bbq. Lots of fridge space. We would absolutely go back.
We stayed at this villa with six adults and eight children between 3 and 8 years old. The villa was amazing, clean, spacious and wonderfully equipped. There was a daily cleaning service which took care of the bathrooms and towels. The pool was clean and heated just perfectly. The overall location of the villa was convenient, but you have to take the car to go anywhere. Contact with our host was straightforward and always helpful. Would definitely recommend to multiple families traveling together

When we booked the villa back in March, there were no reviews for the villa so we were concerned that the villa may not have existed. Working with Unique Villas was easy and helped build our confidence. The villa is just as beautiful as the pictures, maybe even better than the pictures. We were a family of 12 so we rented the whole house. It felt like we were coming home to a resort every time we would open the gates. The grounds are so beautifully landscape with Olive trees. Each room is equipped with it's own temperature control - that's a huge bonus for so many people with different preferences. The pool is by far the best pool I have ever swam in. It's the perfect temperature and I believe salt water. The villa is quick drive to the near by stores for groceries, bakery, gas, etc. The villa is about 20 min drive into Chania - we loved hanging out in the old town. Food is reasonably priced so you won't need to cook too much at the villa. Every amenity you need is at the villa - ice machine, pots and pans, some spices, hair dryers, iron, laundry, etc. Coming from North America we are used to separate washer and separate dryer so we had some trouble using the two in one machine. We never did figure it out! I definitely would recommend this villa and Crete. Be sure to take a boat to Ballos beach - it is just stunning.

Trotz später Ankunft aufgrund einer Flugverspätung hat Margarita auf uns gewartet und war auch während des einwöchigen Aufenthalts jederzeit mit Tipps zu Stränden, Restaurants und guten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten zur Stelle. Die Villa selbst war für uns 10 Leute mehr als ausreichend und hat alle unsere Erwartungen weit übertroffen.
