Because of its position (being located on a hillside), the villa offers an incredible view of Souda bay and full privacy for our guests.s.
The interior design of our luxury Villa Niolos Chania is modern and functional. Entering Niolos Villa Chania on the ground floor, you will find a spacious open plan area that contains the living room, a fully equipped kitchen, an indoor dining table, and an exit to the veranda. On the same floor, there is also a bathroom with a shower and storage. On the first floor, there are two bedrooms, one with a single bed and another one with a double bed that can also be set up as two singles. Both bedrooms offer magnificent views from the balconies. On this floor, there is also a bathroom that contains a bath with a bathtub and shower.
On the second floor, there is our beautiful attic. It includes a double bed, a closet room, a refrigerator, and a bathroom enclosure with a Hydro-massage shower. There is also an exit to a private balcony. Outside and underneath the main building of the villa, there is an individual studio with direct access to the garden. Entering the studio you will find an open plan area that includes a small living room and a fully equipped kitchen. It also contains a bathroom with a shower and a bedroom with a double bed and storage space.
The outdoor area of the villa has a big garden (300 sqm) covered with grass and palm trees, a barbecue area, dining tables, sofas, sunbeds, and umbrellas. There is also a parking space for 4 cars. In addition, a 50 m² private swimming pool with 6 sunbeds, 3 poolside tables, and 2 large umbrellas is located in the garden area. The whole outdoor area is totally private and fenced. There are two empty buildings next to the villa and there are no plans for construction until 2019, so we are able to guarantee 100% privacy to our guests.
Villa Niolos Chania is located on a hill, overlooking the Souda bay outside the small traditional village Sternes which is one of the 20 villages of Akrotiri peninsula, about 14 km northeast of Chania town. The whole surrounding area is a totally quiet natural environment ideal for relaxing but also being very close to all kinds of supplies shops, restaurants and services. In Sternes village you will be able to find a mini-market and a pharmacy but most of the supplies can be found in Kounoupidiana (8 km away from the villa) which is the largest village of Akrotiri peninsula.
The closest well-known area because of its beach is Marathi which is only 3 km away. Marathi is an organized sandy beach with a blue flag which is famous for the crystal blue and calm waters with some very good traditional seafood taverns. It is totally rare to see waves on that beach even if it is a windy day. Another well-known beach which is next to the villa (2.2km away) and worth a visit is Loutraki. Furthermore, in the Akrotiri area, you will find some remarkable historical monuments, century-old monasteries, and churches, impressive caves with rich lithological and archaeological interest. If you are looking for big markets and entertainment, then Chania city is only a 10-15 minutes drive away from the villa.
Sternes is a settlement located southeast of Akrotiri and in a distance of 15km from the city of Chania. It is built in an altitude of 170m on a plateau with a magnificent view towards Souda Bay. Sternes is a place of great history and around the village, there are catacombs dating back to the early Christian era. In Sternes there are also the caves of Spilia, Marathospilos, and Katevati for exploration and numerous sandy beaches such as Marathi and Loutraki with emerald waters dotted with nice café-bars and excellent fresh fish restaurants along the coast. What impresses the visitors of Sternes today is the great number of churches found in the village, which are 24 in total. The village accommodates the N.A.T.O American base as well.

Friendly owner. Large beautiful villa Nice pool
The villa is made magical by its location and the panoramic views it offers of Souda Bay. Seeing all sorts of cruise liners, submarines, and boats coming into the port was excellent. The villa is three stories high, clean and nicely decorated, with rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor and a 1 bedroom maisonette on the ground level where the pool is located. The upper outside area is beautiful, we spent a lot of time hanging out there. The hosts were friendly and good at getting back to us promptly if we required anything. This is a great place to stay, and we would love to be back.
Beautiful house! This is our favorite villa that we have ever stayed in. Spectacular views from each room. We spend a couple days with our family of 7 and enjoyed our vacation very much. We will definitely be back. Stella was very warm and welcoming!!
Niolos villa is a very nice villa: we liked both the exterior and the interior very much. The house is very well equipped and in a nearly perfect condition, additionally it was super clean. The owners were very friendly and provided us with everything we needed including a drink and food starter package when we arrived on Saturday evening and a farewell present when we left. In case of questions it was very easy to get in contact with them via WhatsApp. The only thing which is a bit ambivalent, is the location of the villa near the airport. On the plus side it was very relaxing to reach the house within 15 min from the airport by car. Furthermore, the view from the villa to the sea is fantastic. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay at Niolos villa a lot and we definitely recommend it.

Wij waren hier met 6 volwassenen en 3 kleine kinderen. Het huis was heel schoon, ruim, van alle gemakken voorzien en een goed ingerichte keuken. Buiten een mooie buitenkeuken waar we geregeld gebruik van hebben gemaakt. Aan het zwembad bevond zich nog een aparte studio met kleine woonkamer, keuken en slaapkamer. Alles erg fris en modern ingericht.
De uitzichten zijn vanuit elke ruimte fantastisch over Souda Bay. De zonsopkomst en de zee zien vanuit je bed is een feestje.
Bij aankomst stond Stella, de eigenaresse, ons op te wachten met een heerlijke welkomst mand. Koekjes, wijn, raki, olijfolie enz. Halverwege de week kwam ze zelfs nog heerlijke bladerdeeghapjes brengen. Zo lief!
Het zwembad was heel fijn, zeker met het ingebouwde kinderbadje waarin de kleinsten ook lekker konden spelen.
Marathi Beach is een absolute aanrader! Fijn rustig zandstrand en leuke tavernes.
Chania is ook een hele gezellige stad. Veel kleine gezellige straatjes en de oude haven is erg gezellig met al zijn eettentjes aan zee.
Een auto is wel een must als je hier verblijft.
Toen we weggingen kwam Stella de sleutel ophalen en had ze opnieuw een klein kadootje voor ons. Zo attent!
Al met al een weekje luxe ervaren en allemaal weer helemaal opgeladen!
Wij hopen nog eens terug te keren, maar dan komen we 2 weken!

Felt like I was staying with family. Homemade items were provided prior to our arrival. Very, very hospitable. Owners were very attentive and were around to ensure that all our needs were cared for.
Long story short we really enjoyed our stay at Villa Niolos and highly recommend the property.

The house was just perfect, everything you need. Good beds, fresh bedlinen, towels and even shampoo, conditioner, soap, toiletpaper. outside a pizzaoven and bbq. More than enough places to sit, shadow or sun. There was a little breese. Even it was the last week of april the temperature was around 25 degrees.
The airport is only 7 minutes away, don't let this stop you from renting the house. (we heard it only 2 times in the distance)
But the best of all is Stella, the owner. She is the model of Greek hospitality!! What a warm and sincerely interested lady. She has an eye for detail and that you can see at the house and garden.
(Marathi beach is nice to visit, the restaurant Patrelantonis is recommended!)
We enjoyed a fantastic family stay at Villa Niolos. My wife, our three kids aged 19, 14 and 12 along with my eldest daughter’s boyfriend had a wonderful time at the villa. It was especially convenient when travelling with older kids or another family as the bedroom on the ground floor is essentially a stand alone annex which gave my eldest and her boyfriend their own space.
The pictures don’t quite do the views justice...they are that good. The location is quiet, away from the hussle and bustle of the more heavily populated tourist areas but it is close enough to some larger towns if that is what you fancy. I can’t speak highly enough of the villa or location. The absolute best thing though is how you’re looked after by the owners and their agents. Nothing is too much trouble, they are on hand for anything you may need and I haven’t met nicer people anywhere we have gone in the world. If you’re looking at the Villa then just book it... you won’t be disappointed.
The view was beautiful and the pool a dream! Villa has everything you need. The owners are super nice people! We were warmly welcomed and the first purchases were already made. We will come back in any case!
