Thea Villa Chania emphasizes comfort and manages to combine elegant decorative elements with some limitations of traditional minimalism.
The materials used in the construction were carefully picked emphasizing environmental protection; in walls and floors local stones were used, unprocessed wood, ochre and ecological paints for plastering and floors as well as local construction techniques for the exterior and interior plastering, the rooms and floors. The exact site of the building was selected after careful study in order to achieve the best possible results in heating and cooling. Solar energy is also used wherever it is possible. There are 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, an open space for kitchen, dining room, fireplace and sitting room, and an auxiliary room, all covering the 200 square metres and two levels of the villa.
Kitchen: open type, fully equipped with all electrical appliances; dining area, living room with comfortable sofas, fireplace and a WC; one bedroom with en-suite bathroom; verandah with an unobstructed view and an outdoor dining area.
A stone staircase leads to the first floor (80 square metres) that includes two bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, an auxiliary room (laundry, ironing and linen press); the main corridor leads to the patio (50 square metres) that has an outdoor sitting area. The villa can host comfortably up to 6 people (for more people, prior arrangement is necessary). All of these are offered in a green-clad environment, swamped with flowers, herbs and trees with lovely smells, an ideal place of calm and relaxation for grown-ups and never-ending games and playing for children.

The best part for us was certainly coming back to the villa every evening or even just lazing by the pool all day. The scenery, lemon tree scent, swallows plunging into the pool, and outdoor dining places (of which there are many) were all simply breathtaking. Our host was incredibly warm and hospitable and always concerned about making sure we had a good stay. We were welcomed with fresh juice, fruit, bread, homemade wine, and excellent olive oil. The villa itself appears to be contemporary and opulent, but upon closer study, we noticed that it has a more lived-in and rustic vibe, which we enjoyed. For those who appreciate tranquil serenity and mountain views, I would highly recommend it.
