Ramni is a village 29km from the city of Chania, located at an altitude of 400 meters and it belongs to the municipality of Apokoronas. It is surrounded by the White Mountains which give it stunning natural surroundings. In Ramni you will find a cave hosting inside it the church of St. Mamas. The residents of the village celebrate St. Mamas on 2 September. During that day and the day before, the hospitable locals offer treats to their family, relatives, friends, and to all strangers and visitors that happen to be there. At Ramni you will find some traditional cafes in the square of the village where visitors can enjoy their coffee or their raki (traditional Cretan drink) and taste traditional dishes and local delicacies.
