Darmarochori is a lovely small village with fields of olive groves and vineyards around it. The village is seven minutes by car from Kolymvari the center of the area, five minutes from the coast and twenty minutes from Chania. Darmarochori is ideal for privacy and at the same time, it is close to all amenities.

Booked this villa with unique villas, have to say i was abit dubious as it had no reviews which i found very odd, like my mother use to say always go with your gut, and i am so glad i listened to it this time. The villa is about 40 mins drive from Chania airport, very easy to find and literally a straight road. We were met at the villa by the villa manager, he spoke very good english and was lovely. The villa is just like the photos, the pool is at the front of the villa but as the villa is set up high of the road and there is nothing in front to spoil your views just fields and fields of olive groves, it is very quiet and peaceful. The villa has 4 bedrooms, all aircon, all done to a very high standard and the beds are very comfortable, the 2 upstairs villas have en-suite and large balcony, the villa on the ground floor has a balcony with a shower room next door and the basement bedroom is a twin but the beds are pushed together. There is a gym in the basement with a living room area with corner sofa and tv, also a steam and shower unit with jacuzzi bath and also a seperate toilet and shower room. The kitchen has a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and all the utensils you need, all the bedrooms have tv's in them. The villa is in a village called Darmarochori, really just a long road with a few other villas, the nearest supermarket is about 10 mins drive away along with restaurants and bars (kolymbari), the beach is again about 10 mins drive but there are various beaches all along the front. Platanis is the main big town where all the action is, which is about 20 mins drive along the old national road, (basically the coast road). I personally think that the villa requires a car as it is out of the way, but driving around was very easy as the area is not very busy for cars so no problems there. We hired some quad bikes (in platanis) and spent a day exploring, best day ever. The beach in ayia marina (about another 10 mins) further on than platanis, has loads of water sports and boat tours. Overall, the villa is beautiful, the setting and the grounds are stunning, yes it is set out of the way but this is not a major issue as everything is only 5/10 mins away and it is so peaceful. We went with family the youngest being 13 and they all loved it, didnt want to come home. I try to give as honest a review as i can and if anyone wants any questions answering please just ask.
The villa is just 30 minutes from Chania airport and very easy to find. The owner looks after you and he is lovely on hand via telephone 24/7. The quality of the villa is 5*, beds are very comfortable, showers are perfect, plenty of hot water. A beautiful villa, very spacious, very comfortable, remote definitely 5* quality.
Our stay at the Villa was great. The place is comfortable, quiet and relaxing. Only 30 min away from Chania. Our host was easy to communicate with and responsive. We would happily stay at the Villa again.
