Located in Montriond, Forest Lodge is in a fantastic position between Morzine and the Ardent lift (fast access to Avoriaz and the Portes du Soleil). A feeling of outdoor living has been created from the use of large windows throughout the chalet offering fabulous woodland views. From the comfortable lounge seating you can choose to watch a film on the flatscreen TV or curl up by the elegant suspended wood burner.
The kitchen is sleek and stylish with black cabinets, stainless steel worktops, and an induction hob. You can enjoy watching your hosts create delicious meals for you from the central kitchen island. All the bedrooms are on the first floor and as you walk upstairs you showered in natural light from the huge windows and impressive glass ceiling above. The additional use of stonework on the interior walls makes the staircase a real feature.
Each bedroom is beautifully decorated and the beds can be made into either super king doubles or twins. Rooms 2 & 5 have balconies you can take in the evening view with a glass of wine. One of the favourite areas in the chalet is the covered chill out balcony that is accessed from the lounge. With forest views, this outdoor area offers an additional space to enjoy with comfortable seating and heat lamps to keep you warm on the snowy starlit evenings.
The French Alps is a paradise for nature lovers, especially during the winter for the various globally famous ski resorts, but also during the summer with magnificent nature trails. This area boasts some of the most awe-inspiring natural scenery in Europe, with great mountain peaks, crystal lakes, glorious waterfalls, and dense forests. The most famous sight is Mont Blanc, the highest mountain peak in the Alps. Most tourists come here mostly to enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and mountain climbing in summer; skiing and snowboarding in winter. Ski resort villages such as Chamonix, Val d'Isère, and Portes du Soleil offer an excellent ski experience within a charming ambiance.
Montriond is a small village on the eastern side of the valley from Morzine in the French Alps. This quaint village hosts one of the longest ski slopes in the famous Portes du Soleil: l'Abricotine which runs for nearly 8km from the peaks in the border with Switzerland, all the way down to the Ardent cable car. Descending you can ski through the famous white village of Lindarets which is dotted with old chalet-restaurants that offer a fine gastronomic stop on the slopes. The village is primly located offering direct access to Avoriaz, Morzine, Chatel and Les Crosets in Switzerland.
Montriond village is not an exclusively winter destination; featuring a large lake for ice skating in the winter it transforms into a popular post in the summer for swimming, kayaking and sunbathing along with a handful of other water sport activities. The Fete de Montriond takes place every summer and has spectacular fireworks that attract many visitors. But fireworks are not the only reason for Montriond’s fame. If you are a food lover, this is one of the greatest destinations to satisfy your gastronomic desires.
All in all, Montriond is an ideal holiday destination of impeccable natural beauty with its lake, waterfalls and walking trails which offers plenty of wonderful places to visit.
