Akuvara, in the ancient Sanskrit language, means “The Sea” and this absolute beachfront Samui villa has as much sea as anyone could wish for. Villa Akuvara Samui lounges next to the island’s most delightful yet quietest beach, Lipa Noi. With its ultra-modern design featuring huge expanses of glass to make the most of the view, the villa can sleep up to eight people in four pavilions. It’s perfect for families or for groups of friends intent on a lazy tropical beach holiday, with five-star meals made to order and every whim met by the superbly trained staff with their big welcoming smiles.

About the Location

Thailand, Koh Samui, Lipa Noi

Lipa Noi is a beautiful beach with fine white sand, ideal for families due to its shallow waters. It is a tranquil place, not overly developed with tourism. Lipa Noi is also home to the Samui Dhama Healing Centre one of Samui's more renowned spas where you can relax and enjoy a rejuvenating experience. Apart from enjoying the beach, there's isn’t much to do in Lipa Noi. This tranquility and remoteness are what make it a rare gem and a pole of attraction to the regular visitors. So if what you are looking for is a cosmopolitan place, this is not the right choice, though driving through the coconut plantations is a one of a kind experience and will provide you with a pleasant and relaxing sense of being in a tropical paradise. Due to the proximity of Lipa Noi to the island's main car ferry pier, it is a very convenient choice for those who drive to Samui from the mainland. Lipa Noi is yet another intact paradise in contrast to many places in Thailand that have been overly exploited with the development of tourism.

Koh Samui is Thailand’s second largest island, renowned for its palm-lined beaches, coconut trees and dense, mountainous rainforest, and last but not least its luxury resorts and lavish spas. The island’s benchmark is an imposing 12m-tall golden Big Buddha statue at Wat Phra Yai Temple. Koh Samui will cover all tastes, from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng Beach to the relaxed atmosphere of Lamai Beach to the emerald paradise of Maenam; Koh Samui has a broad appeal for everyone.

Thailand and formerly known as Siam is a country at the center of the Southeast Asian Indochinese peninsula and it borders with Myanmar to the northwest, Laos to the northeast, Cambodia to the southeast and Malaysia to the south. Thailand is the world's 50th largest country and the 21st-most-populous one. The capital and the largest city is Bangkok. It is a very hospitable and fun-loving country with wealthy culture and history, from its magnificent temples and tropical beaches. A country that is itself a unique culinary experience with a tropical climate, fascinating culture and history, majestic evergreen mountains and dreamy beaches, it is a magnet for travelers around the world.

Wonderful family beachfront getaway

Beautiful location with a fantastic staff. Our party had four adults and three children ages 5, 3, and 3. Between the sand toys, the pool, and the nicely shaded beach with swing and calm shallow water it was the perfect location to relax. Food was excellent and easily the best part of the trip for the adults. If you choose to go here, it's best to stay local and enjoy everything on the villa menu! Joy the manager took great care of us and provided us with tour excursions, shopping recommendations, grocery support, and everything else we could think of. I have stayed in multiple villas in Bali, Thailand, and the USA but this is the best one yet. If I am lucky enough I will try to return with more of my family!

paradise found

Our family stayed at Akuvara for our spring holiday. The villa is absolutely magnificent. The pictures are very accurate of the setting yet don't capture what it's like to be there. The layout of the different rooms ensures plenty of room and privacy for all, and the combination of the pool, deck, sala and beach are fantastic. If you've ever wanted to get away from it all and be pampered on a beautiful beach, this is the place for you. We got good use of the sea kayak, the beach was pristine and very uncrowded. The food was great, the staff were very accommodating of our needs. Quite a bit removed from the more, shall we say, 'colorful' parts of Samui, which was a good thing, but if you want to go into Lamai or Chaweng it's not too much of a bother.

Perfect beach escape

Yes, that's right, a perfect beach escape in Koh Samui is possible; away from the crowds, wonderful empty beach, surprisingly idyllic. It is staffed, it is easy, it is oh-so-relaxing. The owners are obliging, the staff are professional, the food on a white-clothed table a marvel.

The biggest problem we had every day was to decide on our custom menu for the day., filled with local fish and seasonal fruit. Perfectly cooked, so even our fussy 8yo succumbed to Thai cuisine (crispy fried fish, oh yes).

The special mention should also go to the villa manager, who really deserves five stars for the professionalism on par with the best hotels. Excellent advice and quiet swift way of materialising our wishes. Four months that passed since our stay erased his name from my memory, but he was unquestionably fantastic.

Thank you to the owners and staff for a perfect holiday for a family with a child and grandma.

If you want to unwind this is the place to go.

We have just returned from the most relaxing holiday in this most beautiful villa in a very tranquil part of Koh Samui.

The villa is most stylishly decorated but is not at all pretentious, the bedrooms are all very spacious and airy and if you are travelling in a group the other bedrooms are set a little way apart from each other so that you are not getting in each other's way. The garden is very peaceful.

The outside area around the pool is fantastic and when it gets a little too hot there is an amazing elevated "cabana" with lounges that is just perfect for a little afternoon snooze with the breezes wafting through as you listen to the ocean lap the shore. That is after you have eaten some of the best lunches (in our case Thai Food) but Western is also on the menu. I don't think we could fault the food even if we wanted to. For us the food was faultless. Fresh fish caught in the morning served for dinner, amazing Thai salads and curries not to mention the best fruit smoothies served around the pool that the amazing staff (totally unobtrusive) made for us without having to ask.

The housekeeper set the most beautiful floral decorations every night for dinner that would not have been out of place in a 5 star hotel. We ate outside most nights.

The food for us was just one of the highlights. A sunset at akuvara is not to be missed the colours are just so vibrant. The perfect start to an evening sitting outside.

The whole experience was by far one of the most relaxing and enjoyable beach holidays we have had. We barely moved from the Villa. If you do feel the need to do something the local town is only a 10 min drive away. Our children aged 15 and 13 equally enjoyed it. There is a canoe, volley ball net, snorkelling exploring the beach/reef.

The service was professional and friendly, the villa just beautiful we would certainly love to go back again. I would certainly recommend this for either a family or couples destination.
