Outdoor Can Estera Mallorca offers a large 14m x 8m pool, surrounded by sunbeds and parasols and a yoga area. The terraces and the covered barbecue area with a large professional grill serve as a great outdoor lounge area to relax and unwind as well as to eat together al-fresco.
The fishing village of Porto Colom is set in a natural harbor and in the past, it used to be the port for Felanitx. Porto Colom was named in honor of Christopher Columbus, who is claimed to have been born here and it has managed to maintain the flair of a small fishing port, with boats mooring peacefully at its waters, and pastel-colored houses lining its waterfront.
Until the late 19th century Porto Colom used to supply wine to France which derived from the Felanitx district, famous for its wines which grew in the Pla & Llevant vineyards. But the vines got diseased with phylloxera just before the 20th century and this led to the diminishing of Porto Colom's role as a port. Only recently it was rediscovered in its new role as a tourist resort. Porto Colom can serve as a great base to explore other fantastic areas in the east such as the Natural Park of Mondrago or the quaint sandstone village of Santanyi.
The nearby town of Felantix was the birthplace of artist Miquel Barceló who gained international recognition for the installation on the UN Palace of Nations in Geneva in the Chamber of Human rights and Alliance of Civilizations.
The most popular beach of Porto Colom is Cala Marcal which lies to the south of the marina. This idyllic beach boasts powdery sand and shallow waters, safe for families and stretches to ample 500m along the seafront to the south of the town. Other interesting beaches around the area near the harbor include S’Arenal Grand and S’Arenal Petit. A bit further are the beaches of S’Algar in the north and Cala Sa Nau in the south with an impressive landscape.
