Casa De Lujo Mallorca dates back to the XVI century and has been restored keeping the Majorcan style of both the exterior and interior. It is surrounded by a hectare and a half of incredible gardens and features a large pool with porch. The decoration combines antique Majorcan furnishings with antique and modern art.
Access to the house is through a beautiful entrance with two arches leading to the living rooms and the staircase accessing the first floor. The living room flows into the winter dining room, summer dining room, kitchen and a courtyard with fountain which leads to the chapel and a bedroom suite.
The first floor has stunning views of the Tramuntana Mountains and the Cabo de Formentor, sea views to the Bay of Alcudia and the Sierra del Levante of Mallorca.
The first floor has a large open living room with grand piano, a library with art-nouveau closed balcony. Upstairs are the 7 more bedrooms, all of them are suites with a living room and fireplace, except one which is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. They all have access to the outside terraces with beautiful views. All rooms have air conditioning, heating, safe and hairdryer.
Santa Margalida is a sleepy agricultural town, nestled between some of the most beautiful countryside of plains and fields in the north part of Mallorca, dating back to the 13th-15th century.
Santa Margalida borrows some light from the tourist resort of Can Picafort, rather than being known itself. However, this historic town boasts amazing panoramic views across the verdant countryside and it is home to some of the best local produce on the island.
Worth a visit is the Church of St. Margaret, originally constructed in 1232, boasting baroque style decorations, and housing an amazing Gothic altarpiece.
As tradition has it, Santa Margalida is dedicated to its own patron Saint, Saint Margaret of Antioch. Santa Margalida is connected with a very interesting legend that wants St Margaret to have been eaten by a dragon, but she managed to break free by piercing his stomach with her cross, and this is depicted in the local coat of arms that displays an image of a dragon with a cross.
Santa Margalida is a producer of root vegetables and it rears some of the best pork, to make Mallorca’s infamous sobrasada dish!
Just about 5km outside of Santa Margalida you will find one of the top natural parks of the island, that stretches all the way across from Alcudia to Playa De Muro, attracting walkers, bird watchers, nature lovers and cyclists at every season of the year.
The town of Santa Margalida is famous in Mallorca for the celebration of the procession of the Beata, celebrated on the first Sunday of September. It begins in the morning with demons racing through the streets of the town to wake local residents with the sound of the bells pinched on their clothing. The custom wants the demons trying to wrest vases from the farmers and smash them on the ground at the foot of the Beata, as they dance around.
