In the living room, you will find a cosy fireplace, a sofa area and an area to play cards and games. The kitchen, with its dining area, leads to the porch where you can enjoy the peace of the countryside of Empordanet.
This Suite Ter is located on the ground floor and takes the name of the river Ter, which rises in the Pyrenees and flows into the mouth of la Gola, in Torroella de Montgrí.
This suite La Gola is accessed from the living room on the ground floor. It owes its name to the current mouth of the river Ter. La Gola is also known for being an area where elvers (baby eels) can be found.
Once on the first floor, we find the Montgrí suite, named after the emblematic hill of the Empordà: the Montgrí. This mountain can be seen from any point of this territory. The massif of Montgrí is characterized by its shape that looks like a bishop lying down. The castle is the bishop's ring. From the top of the Montgrí castle there are spectacular views of the Alt and the Baix Empordà.
Suite Les Medes is located on the top floor of the Pahissa, it has its access via a staircase and a walkway. It takes its name from the Medes Islands, located in L'Estartit. The archipelago of the Medes Islands is the easternmost extension of the Montgrí massif. The Medes is a place of natural interest for its marine fauna and flora reserve.
Just coming into the Pahissa we find the living room, where a large window with views of the plain of L'empordà and the Montgrí, welcomes us. The cosy salon has a sofa area with TV, fireplace and a corner with a table to play games. The kitchen of the Pahissa, leads us from the living room to the dining room. The fully equipped kitchen is decorated with exquisite taste. It has a dining room with a high table overlooking the porch and the plain of the Empordà. From the kitchen of the Pahissa, you can access the porch with views of the countryside and the Montgrí Mountain. On the porch you will find a sofas area ideal to enjoy the outdoors while reading or chatting with friends. Pals is a medieval town in Catalonia, northern Spain, a few kilometers from the sea in the heart of the Bay of Emporda on the Costa Brava. It is believed to be one of the most charming villages found in Costa Brava due to its well preserved medieval fortress that is per se a journey back in time. Perched on a hilltop, it boasts amazing views.
The historical center has been looked after very well and this is a place that has respected and preserved local traditions and gastronomical habits of the past which are cherished to this day and make Pals a rare gem. Several gastronomic and cultural events are organized throughout the year, but this is not the only reason this place is special. The surroundings are simply breathtaking, with an unspoilt beach, wetlands and verdant rice fields.
The main road into the village leads upwards towards the large tower which consists of the remains of the castle that once stood here. The views from up here are impeccable.
Today only four of the towers stand which are remains of the original fortifications linked by the thick stone ramparts. The church is also at the top of the village and inside you can admire the lovely vaulted Gothic interior. The medieval town is arranged around Placa Major, a picturesque square home to the town hall.
Pals is ideal for a quiet vacation away from the fast pace and buzz of cities like Barcelona.
