Madikwe is home to the Super Seven, which includes all Big Five species as well as cheetah and wild dog. There are an estimated 400 wild dogs still surviving in South Africa and a large concentration of these are thriving in the Madikwe habitat. The reserve is also home to some 350 recorded bird species. Madikwe Game Reserve is home to the endangered African Wild Dog and has the highest concentration of rhinos in Africa. Conservation is an active and important part of life here. Molori Safari works closely with Madikwe Game Reserve in its rhino conservation efforts and guests can by arrangement be part of an extraordinary hands-on rhino tagging experience, participating in the notching, DNA sampling, and microchipping of the rhino’s horns. Guests can also participate in dog tracking experiences and learn more about this extraordinary and highly endangered species
The split-level Sephiri suite has two bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom. It can sleep up to four guests and is ideal for families. The interesting combination of black and white finishes, as well as neutral tones, offset the stunning contemporary pieces while the retractable floor-to-ceiling glass doors render nature as the backdrop. The main area includes a spacious bedroom, stone-clad fireplace, living room, and study. The expansive deck features a private infinity pool and surrounding daybeds for blissful relaxation. Unique to Sephiri is the second-floor bedroom, which features its own entrance, private bathroom, and an intimate terrace with breathtaking views of the Reserve. Other features and amenities include Outdoor shower, guest bathroom, heated flooring, air-conditioning, wireless Internet, iPod docking station, telescope, minibar and Nespresso machine.
Madikwe is one of the largest game reserves in South Africa. The reserve is well known for its abundant wildlife (including the "Madikwe Top 10") and diversity of habitats, ranging from the perennial Marico River to its large open plains, woodlands, and steep cliffs, to the Dwarsberg Mountains which stretch across the southern border.
All private guest lodges offer visitors a unique and personalized adventure in the real African bush, going every extra mile to ensure their Madikwe memories linger for years to come. There are no day-visitor facilities in Madikwe and the reserve is only open to those who have made a booking at one of the lodges, which ensures that all guests are able to enjoy an exclusive safari experience.
