Madikwe is home to the Super Seven, which includes all Big Five species as well as cheetah and wild dog. There are an estimated 400 wild dogs still surviving in South Africa and a large concentration of these are thriving in the Madikwe habitat. The reserve is also home to some 350 recorded bird species. Madikwe Game Reserve is home to the endangered African Wild Dog and has the highest concentration of rhinos in Africa. Conservation is an active and important part of life here. Molori Safari works closely with Madikwe Game Reserve in its rhino conservation efforts and guests can by arrangement be part of an extraordinary hands-on rhino tagging experience, participating in the notching, DNA sampling, and microchipping of the rhino’s horns. Guests can also participate in dog tracking experiences and learn more about this extraordinary and highly endangered species
The Metsi Presidential Suite contains one master bedroom and bathroom. This stunning, opulent suite mixes up contemporary design with earthy African art. The floor-to-ceiling retractable glass walls give way to a spacious wooden deck, private infinity pool, hot spa bath, and alfresco outdoor dining area. Interior spaces flow seamlessly, evoking comfort and elegance throughout. The kitchen area and formal indoor dining room blend into the living room and lounge area. The spacious master bedroom features a walk-in dressing room and a luxurious en-suite bathroom with a freestanding rim-flow bath.
The Metsi suite also has a study and library area. Of special interest is the epic collection of National Geographic magazines, dating back to the 1940s. Other features and amenities include an Outdoor shower, guest bathroom, walk-in closet, fireplace, heated flooring, air-conditioning, flat-screen TV with satellite TV and DVD, wireless Internet, laptop, iPod docking station, telescope, service kitchen, minibar and Nespresso machine.
Madikwe is one of the largest game reserves in South Africa. The reserve is well known for its abundant wildlife (including the "Madikwe Top 10") and diversity of habitats, ranging from the perennial Marico River to its large open plains, woodlands, and steep cliffs, to the Dwarsberg Mountains which stretch across the southern border.
All private guest lodges offer visitors a unique and personalized adventure in the real African bush, going every extra mile to ensure their Madikwe memories linger for years to come. There are no day-visitor facilities in Madikwe and the reserve is only open to those who have made a booking at one of the lodges, which ensures that all guests are able to enjoy an exclusive safari experience.
