Vilanculos is a coastal town in Mozambique named after local tribal chief Gamela Vilankulo Mukoke, and some of its suburbs are named after his sons. Vilanculos has been growing extensively over the last decade and has been developing its tourism infrastructure. The town of Vilankulo leads to the archipelago. This charming town is only about 5 km long, totally walkable, and a fun bike ride. The airport is based on the outskirts of the town.
