Surrounded by ancient olive trees and extensive gardens, Villa Alkhozama (meaning lavender in Arabic) is a two-bedroomed villa, which combines contemporary design with local materials, strong Moroccan colours and traditional craftsmanship. The house was designed by one of Morocco’s most renowned architects, Karim el Achak, from Agence Architecture Associati of Marrakech, with bespoke furniture and lighting by Colefax and Fowler’s design director, Philip Hooper.
Villa Alkhozama Marrakech descends from ground level to a lower level opening onto a twelve-metre pool, with a large daybed and sun loungers. There is a shaded dining area, a living room with an open fire and a dining room with a domed ceiling with a vintage Moroccan light found in the souks. Villa Alkhozama, which cannot be seen from Ezzahra, can be rented independently or together with the other two villas.
There are two double bedrooms – each with an ensuite bathroom underfloor heating and air conditioning. The master bedroom opens onto a terrace with a 12-metre pool and a luxurious day bed. The lower level second bedroom with bathroom en suite has a covered terrace with a seating area and a writing desk. Villa Alkhozama Marrakech has a shared exercise track of 330 meters with various exercise equipment for instance trx straps, weights, benches etc around the track. The house comes fully staffed, including your very own chauffeur for trips within Marrakech, and is managed by the Ezzahra estate manager Maria, who will assist you with all your requirements.
Marrakesh is a major city of Morocco and the fourth largest city in the country, after Casablanca, Fez and Tangier. It is located to the north of the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Marrakesh is often considered Morocco's most exciting city, which used to be a trading and rest spot for caravan routes and today it is among the top touristic destinations.
It encompasses a greatly contrastive ambience, with its south being framed by the High Atlas Mountains and their snow-capped peaks that come in contrast with the palm oasis of the north, creating a dazzling effect to its visitor. Marrakesh is also nicknamed as the ‘red city’ for the fact that its walls are painted red, pink, and orange thanks to the hue of the clay used in the past as a construction material. This is a city that has it all, where tradition coexists in harmony with the vibrant trends of today.
Bordering the Atlantic Coast and the Mediterranean, bound by outstretching coastline, roaring canyons and a hint of the Sahara Desert, there are spoils of contrasting landscapes to explore in Morocco. Typified for its abundance of cultures with Berber, Arabic and European influences, it’s fitting that Morocco is located on the North-west tip of Africa, only a few clicks away from the tip of Spain and Europe. Weave in the hocus pocus Jemaa el-Fna market in Marrakech, the ‘Santorini of Africa’ under the shadow of the Rif Mountains and endless pots of authentic tagine; it’s impossible to ignore Morocco as an epic cultural destination.
