Halfway between Perugia and Orvieto, and not far from the great cities of art and the small medieval villages that surround the area, the old stone farmhouse from which this home originates, is capable of offering hospitality to about twenty people between various accommodations: 6 double bedrooms, 2 single beds, 3 sofa beds, 4 additional beds. All accommodations have a private bathroom.
Lots of outdoor space at your disposal, where you can rest and sunbathe or where you can enjoy beautiful walks in contact with nature. Vegetable and chicken coop products are also available, with organic vegetables and fresh eggs practically all year round. Outside there is also a beautiful swimming pool, overlooking the Umbrian hills, which opens onto a large green lawn with parasols and deck chairs. Enjoy also the pergola with a small library or the large raised terrace with a wood oven and barbecue for the picnic. The property also boasts an old barn that has been transformed into an interesting multipurpose facility capable of hosting rooms for yoga, play or relaxation, and conviviality. Outside there is also a volleyball court, nearby there are tennis courts and a riding stable.
The internal rooms with fireplace, the stone walls, the details of the exposed electrical system, and the kitchen with the old sink in grit, the old majolica tiles, and many other references to the past are also large. For unforgettable dinners in the moonlight, you can easily sit outside.
In the sleeping area, with brightly colored walls, four-poster beds, terracotta floors, wooden beams on the ceilings, walnut writing desks, painted wrought iron headboards, bathroom furniture made by the skilled hands of the Umbrian artisans, will make you find the dreamy atmosphere that inspired the tales of a thousand and one nights, that began with “Once upon a time …”
Perugia is a beautiful medieval city in Umbria, rich in history and art, and its surroundings include evident elements of the Etruscan and the Roman civilizations. The modern part of town is dominated by the presence of its prestigious university which creates a pleasant buzz. There are interesting attractions and a vibrant day scene as well as nightlife with great restaurants and nightspots that make it a very lively place. The historical center displays labyrinth alleys, beautiful arched stairways, and piazzas framed by magnificent palazzi. Its location is offered for daily excursions to places such as Assisi, Spello, and Gubbio. Perugia is just a couple of hours drive north of Rome.
Important sights in the city include the Etrurian Well that is not only a historical site, but is today still the main water source in the city. Besides the well, there are many Etrurian tombs. The 'artistic' center of Perugia revolves around Piazza IV Novembre, where still stands part of the walls that once belonged to the Etruscan city and were accessed using the ancient gates such as the Porta della Mandorla, Porta Marzia and Porta Trasimeno. Other sights of religious importance are the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, Basilica of San Domenico and San Pietro church.
