REVIEW SCORE

Villa dell’Angelo Umbria is a luxury villa rental with 7 bedrooms and a private pool.  There is the whole personality of the owner – a Roman architect, artist, and sculptor – in every corner of Villa dell’Angelo, a small nineteenth-century village within a larger estate of 50 hectares in the beautiful land of the border between Umbria and Tuscany. Of the original historical nucleus in the seventeenth century today there remains a living testimony in an inscription dated exactly 1631. Towards the end of the nineteenth century, the largest building was transformed into a tobacco drying room, following the development of the traditional and now historic Umbrian tobacco growing. In the mid-twentieth century, the complex then underwent new changes. In the end, it was enlarged and converted into an elegant beautiful residence both inside and out.

Outside, in the cool of the infinity pool overlooking the Tuscan Chiana valley, you can enjoy suggestive sunsets while sipping a glass of wine while the view is kidnapped, in the distance, by the villages of Monteleone d’Orvieto, Città della Pieve and from the Cetona and Amiata mountains.

The villa includes five very sophisticated and sought-after environments in the furnishings with a reference to the Renaissance period and to the great artist Pietro Vannucci, known as Perugino. The owner then put his transforming Villa dell’Angelo into a really charming home where, in every room, we find paintings, chairs, glass, and iron tables designed and made by his skilled hands.

The estate inside also includes a farm where oil and jams are currently produced. Recently 5 hectares of vineyards have been planted for the future production of red, white, and sparkling wine. Being between Umbria and Tuscany, the location favors the tour of the cities of art such as Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Città della Pieve and the area of Lake Trasimeno.

On the Tuscan side, with a few kilometers, you reach the villages of Cetona, Chiusi, Chianciano, Montepulciano, and Pienza. The guests of Villa dell’Angelo can also try their hand at various outdoor activities to enjoy the splendid landscapes of the Umbrian hills such as horse riding and cycling, trekking in the woods, and visits with wine tasting in different Umbrian cellars. Charming residence but also the ideal location where the only sounds you will hear will be those of nature and the countryside, Villa dell’Angelo is also the place of return to the old traditions. A perfect place to get together and get away from the frenzy that accompanies us every day.

About the Location

Italy, Umbria, Perugia

Perugia is a beautiful medieval city in Umbria, rich in history and art, and its surroundings include evident elements of the Etruscan and the Roman civilizations. The modern part of town is dominated by the presence of its prestigious university which creates a pleasant buzz. There are interesting attractions and a vibrant day scene as well as nightlife with great restaurants and nightspots that make it a very lively place. The historical center displays labyrinth alleys, beautiful arched stairways, and piazzas framed by magnificent palazzi. Its location is offered for daily excursions to places such as Assisi, Spello, and Gubbio. Perugia is just a couple of hours drive north of Rome.

Important sights in the city include the Etrurian Well that is not only a historical site, but is today still the main water source in the city. Besides the well, there are many Etrurian tombs. The 'artistic' center of Perugia revolves around Piazza IV Novembre, where still stands part of the walls that once belonged to the Etruscan city and were accessed using the ancient gates such as the Porta della Mandorla, Porta Marzia and Porta Trasimeno. Other sights of religious importance are the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, Basilica of San Domenico and San Pietro church.

Umbria is a famous region of Central Italy crossed by the beautiful River Tiber. Well known for its old cathedral churches and beautiful villages. It is a less traveled region in Central Italy with many advantages over Tuscany. It is the smallest region in Italy and it doesn’t have a coastline or border with another country. It is an ideal country for those who want to experience Italian art, history, culture and cuisine.

The birthplace of the Roman Empire and Renaissance, Italy, showcases many of the world’s greatest artworks, architectural buildings and over the top gastronomical proposals. This is the country where the word “style” expresses the whole nation. Italy has more Unesco World Heritage cultural sites than any other country; among them are Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera, Michelangelo’s David and Sistine Chapel and da Vinci’s The Last Supper.
