Villa Borgo Pietro Umbria dates back over 500 years, however, it has recently been completely renovated. The entire property provides absolute peace and quiet: although it feels remote and private, the property is within easy reach of the attractive Perugia and Assisi villages of the Region and offers some unique vistas on the surrounding green hills of Umbria.
The houses are filled with light while rooms have beamed ceilings and windows overlooking the park with olive groves and pomegranate trees. The interior is airy and spacious and has been decorated in a classical style.
Perugia is a beautiful medieval city in Umbria, rich in history and art, and its surroundings include evident elements of the Etruscan and the Roman civilizations. The modern part of town is dominated by the presence of its prestigious university which creates a pleasant buzz. There are interesting attractions and a vibrant day scene as well as nightlife with great restaurants and nightspots that make it a very lively place. The historical center displays labyrinth alleys, beautiful arched stairways, and piazzas framed by magnificent palazzi. Its location is offered for daily excursions to places such as Assisi, Spello, and Gubbio. Perugia is just a couple of hours drive north of Rome.
Important sights in the city include the Etrurian Well that is not only a historical site, but is today still the main water source in the city. Besides the well, there are many Etrurian tombs. The 'artistic' center of Perugia revolves around Piazza IV Novembre, where still stands part of the walls that once belonged to the Etruscan city and were accessed using the ancient gates such as the Porta della Mandorla, Porta Marzia and Porta Trasimeno. Other sights of religious importance are the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, Basilica of San Domenico and San Pietro church.
