REVIEW SCORE

Ideal for hosting small groups or large families, thanks to its 14 beds, Villa Verde offers a unique welcome in one of the most beautiful hills of the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines, within the Casentinesi Forests National Park. Dating back to the 1700s, this former country house has become a charming residence after a complete renovation that allowed it to be reorganized into two apartments, which can also be lived separately, capable of hosting up to 6 people the first and up to 8 people the second.

The smallest, located on the ground floor of the house, consists of a large living room with a fireplace, kitchen and dining area, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. The second, on the first floor, has a large living room with fireplace, a large dining room, a kitchen, a wardrobe with washing machine, a small study and four double bedrooms. Two bathrooms with tub and shower complete the whole.

The living room on the first floor is particularly large and bright. The large space is directly connected to the dining room which, in turn, has access to the kitchen. The openings to the outside give all the rooms lots of light but also unique views. The mezzanine and first floor rooms are also spacious and comfortable, wherefrom the windows you can admire the hills with evergreen trees and the village of Tredozio in the valley below.

But it is on the outside that Villa Verde presents itself in all its glory. The facade of the house, in plastered stone with the typical pink color that distinguishes all the houses on the estate. In the verdant garden, where you can enjoy various outdoor sports and where children are obviously welcome, there is a large swimming pool 10 meters long by 5 meters wide with a depth of 1.40 meters. The house also has an independent wood-burning oven for baking bread and pizza. Also outside, guests can use a large gazebo with a garden table, chairs, and barbecue for cooking outdoors.

The house is part of the property of an estate where excellent wines are produced. In the surroundings, in addition to walks in the woods, you can also dedicate yourself to visiting some cities such as Faenza, Ravenna, Florence, and Bologna, all of which can be reached by car or public transport in no time. During the day you can also visit unique museums dedicated, in particular, to the history of engines and cars.

About the Location

Italy, Tuscany, Florence Area

Florence is an open-air exhibit of art and culture, known worldwide as the heart of the Renaissance, and the home of fine art and literature. Signature examples include Filippo Brunelleschi’s Duomo and Michelangelo’s timeless statue of David, arguably the most recognizable benchmarks of western culture to date. The romantic Ponte Vecchio, one of Europe’s last fully stone bridges, gives Florence the notoriety it deserves and a very unique flair. The vision of Renaissance men and thinkers including Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, or Dante Alighieri had a great impact and changed our literally and visual world forever, and Florence is the city where it all began: in fact, Florence gave birth to the Renaissance.

Its painting-like rolling landscape has determined rural chic, making Florence area a favorite destination for food and wine lovers, not to exclude Renaissance art ones. Hills outlined by endless rows of cypress trees, majestic castles, thermal spa towns, Lilliputian medieval villages lost amidst olive groves, compose an idyllic region that also features gorgeous emerald green seaside such as Maremma and Argentario, as well as dramatic mountains. From the fashionable Mediterranean coast to the marble mountains of Carrara, the chestnut forests of the Apennines, the Natural parks with lakes, canyons, thermal springs and grottoes, the Renaissance villas, olive groves and vines, Tuscany is a fantastic place to visit all year round. Do not miss a visit to the Vallombrosa Forest with its centuries-old trees. Also worth visiting are the hilly landscape around Rufina with endless vineyards; also the hills of Fiesole, which, just above Florence, conserve a magnificent Roman amphitheater. Local crafts couldn’t have minor position; florentine craftsmanship is famous world-round for leather, gold and wood all shaped with thrilling perfection.

Tuscany is a place like nowhere else in the world; this is the reason why this region is at the tops bucket lists all over the globe. Amazing landscapes, beautiful hilltop towns and the fantastic capital city of Florence charm everyone who decides to visit it. It is a majestic region with almost half of the artistic heritage of Italy and fantastic landscapes. Due to its mild weather, you could visit Tuscany all year round. It’s a region with exceptional art towns and hilltop villages and with a heritage of a glorious past with unspoiled nature, spectacular sea coast, and beautiful islands. Here you will taste some of the best wine varieties and then you can relax to one of its thermal spas.

The birthplace of the Roman Empire and Renaissance, Italy, showcases many of the world’s greatest artworks, architectural buildings and over the top gastronomical proposals. This is the country where the word “style” expresses the whole nation. Italy has more Unesco World Heritage cultural sites than any other country; among them are Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera, Michelangelo’s David and Sistine Chapel and da Vinci’s The Last Supper.
