REVIEW SCORE

There are places that manage to maintain beauty over time and make the pleasure of the past alive with their ageless charm. Villa Murlo is just one of these. Country residences within an estate of over 600 hectares were in the heart of the Val d’Orcia between Siena and Montalcino.

This house offers a unique view of the surrounding hills, recognized as a Unesco world heritage site. The Villa is actually a small hamlet born in the early nineteenth century. It can accommodate up to twenty people by providing them with nine rooms, all with private bathrooms, three kitchens, and as many living rooms equipped with air conditioning and wi-fi, along with many other comforts.

Externally, all around the two main buildings, there is a huge garden with green spaces full of trees and equipped with a beautiful swimming pool, barbecue area, and relaxation areas for reading a book, having a drink, or relaxing walks. Together with the wine, the estate produces cereals, wheat, olives, and other treasures of these lands where hospitality has always been the true calling card.

Living a holiday here will be like immersing yourself in another life, in another dimension. Everything is in fact designed to welcome the tourist to a place with timeless authenticity. In the large room on the ground floor of the patronal house, originally used as a warehouse but then restored and transformed into the main living room, large windows and wooden doors open onto the garden where a covered patio and a second pergola are available for guests for dinners. open or other moments of true conviviality.

The villa with pool offers a series of services on request: wine tasting in the estate's cellar, preparation of a typical dinner of the Val d’Orcia, cooking classes and, upon guests arrival, also a special service “What do you want to find in the fridge”. Villa Murlo is located on the main route of the Wine Roads and not far from suggestive places such as Siena, San Gimignano, Pienza. For sports enthusiasts, a golf course and riding stables are available nearby. Also in the area, it is possible to experience hot air balloons or walking and cycling tours.

About the Location

Italy, Tuscany, Siena Area

Buonconvento is probably  one of the most beautiful villages in Italy located in the heart of Crete Senesi. It is only a few klm away from Siena enclosed within the city walls the medieval village built in 1379 had only two entrances, one north the Porta Senese and one South called Porta Romana which was destroyed in 1944 by the Germans.  Its historical center is named Via Soccini and here you can find most restaurants and cafés.

Bumconvento has two wonderful museums, the Mezzardia Senese where you can see the rural world of the countryside and the Val d Arbia Museum of Sacred Art to view the Sienese masterpieces from the thirteen to the seventeeth century.  Go to the church of San Pietro and San Paolo where the Holy Roman Empire died in 1313.  You can also view the nearby Bibbiano Castle and Tancredi Castle while Rapolano Terme is only 30klm from Buonconvento and has two wonderful thermal springs.

Taste the local salad named panzanella with stale nread onion and tomatoes, apap al pomodoro, a bread sour as well as pappardelle sulla leper (pappardelle with hare ragu.  Don’t forget to taste the white wines of Val d’ Arbia and the red and white Orcia.

Tuscany is a place like nowhere else in the world; this is the reason why this region is at the tops bucket lists all over the globe. Amazing landscapes, beautiful hilltop towns and the fantastic capital city of Florence charm everyone who decides to visit it. It is a majestic region with almost half of the artistic heritage of Italy and fantastic landscapes. Due to its mild weather, you could visit Tuscany all year round. It’s a region with exceptional art towns and hilltop villages and with a heritage of a glorious past with unspoiled nature, spectacular sea coast, and beautiful islands. Here you will taste some of the best wine varieties and then you can relax to one of its thermal spas.

The birthplace of the Roman Empire and Renaissance, Italy, showcases many of the world’s greatest artworks, architectural buildings and over the top gastronomical proposals. This is the country where the word “style” expresses the whole nation. Italy has more Unesco World Heritage cultural sites than any other country; among them are Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera, Michelangelo’s David and Sistine Chapel and da Vinci’s The Last Supper.
